Kairi

=======

Kairi sat on the ground, waiting for her wounds to heal. They had faded from major cuts to scrapes to scars. They were peppered up and down her arms and legs. A series of scars on her left arm spelled the word 'helpless'. On her other arm, there was the word 'princess'. Kairi almost never got mad, she was excellent and keeping her composure and staying calm, wanting only to see the good in everyone.

However, that girl, Lelie, she made her angry. While she tortured Kairi, she would taunt her with words about Sora.

"A worthless brat," she would call him. "A useless child, just like you."

Kairi clenched her fists. "No one talks about my friends like that," she whispered. She heard footsteps echoing through the hallway. Standing up, she ran towards the bars of her cell. Saix stood in front of the bars, his usual scowl stretched across his face.

"What are you going to do with me?" Kairi asked, grasping the bars of her cage.

"You are the fire that feeds Sora's anger," Saix said.

"No..." Kairi whimpered.

"Saix!" the girl who tortured Kairi, Lelie, called. "C'mon, we need to go."

Saix looked at Kairi once before walking towards Lelie. Kairi looked at the humanoid Heartless. Lelie met her gaze and smirked, making fear shoot through Kairi's heart. Luckily, she left with the blue-haired male. Kairi hung her head, her grip on the bars tightening.

"I need to get out of here," she muttered. Looking at the bars, she realized that she could probably slide between them with ease. She started to move between the bars, her arms and torso had room to spare, but her hips got stuck. She hissed. "Darn it," she grunted. "Come...on!" she groaned, trying to wiggle free.

A pair of Dusks approached her cage. Kairi squeaked, her heart racing. Surprisingly, the Dusks didn't attack her. They started to move their bodies back and forth, mimicking the way Kairi had been trying to free herself only moments earlier. Confused, Kairi continued to try and wiggle free. The Dusks seemed to get excited, moving faster. Kairi, catching on, started to move again, this time to communicate to the Dusks.

Somehow, this became a conversation!

Rue, Demyx, Naminé

========

The small group of Nobodies hid inside a small room within the Organization's castle. It was full of boxes and crates. Naminé kept a watch for Lelie or any other Organization members while Rue tried to heal Demyx. His wound was fading ever so slowly, shrinking into a  small scar.

"Thanks," Demyx said, putting a hand over his still-sensitive skin.

"No problem. Gotta look out for your friends, right?" Rue replied, smiling. Demyx hesitated, he hadn't really had 'friends' for a long time. Yet, something about Rue appealed to him in a way he hadn't felt since he was a Somebody.

He smiled at her. "Yeah, you're right."

Naminé tapped Rue's shoulder and whispered, "I have to go find someone, are you ready to move on by yourselves?"

Rue nodded. "Go, we can find a way out of here."

Naminé gave an encouraging smile. "Good luck." She opened a Dark Corridor and walked through.

Demyx scooted closer to the slightly open door, peeking out.

"So, how are we going to get out?" Rue asked, pulling her knees to her chest.

"Wait until things quiet down, escape," Demyx said simply. "After running into Lelie, I don't feel like getting into much trouble."

Rue gave a breathy laugh. "Yeah, same." She looked out a small window at the dark sky. "Hey, Demyx?"

"Yeah?"

"What are you planing on doing when this is all over?"

Demyx looked at her, confused. "What do you mean?"

"What are you going to do?" Rue asked again. "With the Organization gone, you could do whatever you want. So what would you do?"

Demyx hummed in thought. "I dunno. Probably find a nice, quiet world. Play my music. Wait to disappear."

Rue frowned. "You're not going to fade away."

"All Nobodies fade away eventually, especially when they don't have a purpose," Demyx told her, uncharacteristically serious. "When I do fade, I just hope that it'll be peaceful."

Rue crawled closer to him. "You. Are. Not. Fading. I'll make sure of it."

"How?" Demyx asked, looking at her sadly.

"I don't know, but we'll find a way. I know we will," she grabbed one of his hands, "I promise."

"Promise?"

She looked him dead in the eye, "Promise."

Demyx smiled softly, "Okay." Rue gave him a large grin.

There was a loud noise outside the door, like Heartless and Dusks being killed. Rue and Demyx jumped up to their feet. Peaking through the slightly-open door, a man stood outside, tall and hooded. In his hand, he held a black blade. His head turned toward their hiding spot.

"Hide!" Rue hissed. The figure walked toward the door. Demyx and Rue hid behind one of the large crates, huddling close together to avoid being seen.

The man walked through the room, his boots thumping against the floor. He stopped a few feet away from the Nobodies' hiding place.

"Rue?" the man whispered, his voice sounding like a young boy's .

Rue perked up. Was he...?

"Riku?" Rue whispered. Demyx looked at her like she was crazy.

Riku walked over to their hiding spot. Demyx glared at him defensively, though he himself was shaking.

"Hello, imposter," he muttered.

"I apologize, I did not want to impersonate an Organization member. But your coats were very useful," Riku said plainly.

Rue raised an eyebrow, "How do you know my name?"

"I've been keeping track of all of you for a while now," Riku explained. "It's a good to see you're safe. But you both need to get out of here. Sora, Mickey, and the others have entered the Castle, and the Organization isn't holding anything back."

"We've gotta help them then," Rue said.

"What?! We have to leave! We could be killed," Demyx replied, trembling.

"Exactly! Everyone here is in danger. You, me, Sora, Violet, everyone! I think it would better our chances if we all worked together to get through this castle, so we need to find my sister and Sora," Rue countered, determination filling her up. Demyx could sense her determination, and understood her reasoning.

He sighed. "F-fine. But if we die-"

"We won't!" Rue vowed.

Riku nodded. "Follow me. I know where to find Sora."
