Three weeks later.

"Hey, Leah!" I beamed as I entered the coffee shop.

"Hello, sweetie!" She smiled happily as she finished taking someone's order.

"Your new usual?" She asked as I leaned against the counter.

"Please!" I smiled as I fiddled with the packets of crisps next to me. "Hey, uh, has Luke been in yet?" I asked and she nodded slowly, before motioning here head towards our new table, next to a different window. I thanked her before walking over to him.

"Heyyyy," I dragged out slowly as I slid into the seat opposite him. He seemed to be in deep thought, so I gently kicked his shin and he instantly looked up at me.

"Oh, sorry," he smiled - but it seemed fake.

"What's up?" I asked worriedly.

"Nothing," he smiled, it was fake once again.

"You're smiling," I begun, "but your eyes are telling me otherwise," his locked with mine, and this time he smiled happily - it was genuine.

"Here ya go, one hot chocolate," Leah said, placing the drink down.

"Look at you two," she beamed before walking away.

"So...?" I pushed, waiting for an explanation as to why Luke seemed upset.

"Well, it's to do with the band," he started, "last night at our gig - and as you know, it was our biggest one yet - well, we didn't know this at first but a producer was there, and he has some very close contacts with a band from the UK, and, well, we've been asked to tour with them..." He looked at me, "as their support act, and well.." he paused, before looking down at his hands.

My smile slowly faltered as I realised what was about to happen, but I quickly composed myself before reassuring Luke, "hey, it's okay," I said before holding his hand gently.

"We said yes," he looked up. "This could be huge for us, you know? This could finally be it," he said and I instantly felt a wave of pride come over me.

"Luke," I laughed, "I'm so proud of you, so so happy, you guys deserve this. You've worked so hard, I'm glad you have this incredible opportunity and that you're going for it," I beamed before getting up to hug him. "When do you leave? In a couple of months, or?" I looked at him as I sat on his lap.

"Uhm, two weeks," he frowned, "but the tour starts in Australia, so I'll be back within 3 weeks, hopefully, it's just the rest of the tour that'll be hard," he sighed. I placed my head on his shoulder.

"How long will you be gone for after the Aus tour?"

"8 months," he frowned. "But I'll have a few days every so often to come back and see you,"

"I'm so happy for you," I smiled. I really was happy for him, but I was sad that he was leaving so soon. "I'm sure we will be fine, we'll make it work," I said as I kissed his cheek.

He nodded, "so, did you send some of your writing to those publishers?"

"Yeah, I did, I should hear back from them soon." After weeks of Luke convincing me to send my work out to some publishers, I finally did it. Now I just have to play the waiting game.

He smiled proudly at me. "I love you," he said, and I smiled at him before sitting back in my seat. He frowned as he looked at me. I sighed. I knew exactly what he was thinking.

I still haven't said those three words.
