"I have a surprise for you," Luke spoke as we entered a bar. Apparently there was a live band playing tonight, so Luke wanted me to go watch them play with him. I looked at him with confusion, "you won't have to wait long," he smiled before getting me a drink then leaving me at the bar. "I won't be long." he mouthed as he walked away. I sighed before swiveling on the bar stool so I was facing the bar.

"Hey," a high pitched voice spoke from behind me. I spun around and I instantly squealed at the sight of Sidney and Jess standing in front of me. I got up and hugged them tightly before pulling away.

"This is my surprise from Luke?" I squealed, they book looked at me weirdly, confusion laced in their features.

"What? No, we arrived here today and we went to your house but your aunt told us that you'd be here," Sidney looked at me as Jess nodded. "But anyway," she continued, "who's Luke and what's this about a surprise?" she asked, wiggling her eyebrows as Jess and I giggled.

But we were rudely interrupted by the sound of tapping on a microphone.

"Testing, 1, 2" a male voice sounded through the speakers. I squinted my eyes towards the stage to try make out who was up there.

I widened my eyes in shock.

"That's Luke," I pointed to the blonde haired guy standing behind the microphone. I looked around the rest of the stage, Michael was on his right with a guitar held in his hands and Calum was on his left with a bass guitar in his hands. Luke had a guitar, too, which made me smile as I hadn't heard him play before. I looked behind him, to see who was playing drums, and to my surprise it was him. Ashton, was the drum player.

"Hey, isn't that Ashton on drums? Your ex?" Jess whispered in my ear. I nodded my head slowly as I glared at him.

He's Luke's friend, I reminded myself, and I soon tore my eyes away from him to focus on Luke.

"Hi, we're 5 Seconds Of Summer and we're just going to play a few songs for you tonight," and with that, the music begun and I listened carefully to the lyrics that were being sung.

You call me up,

it's like a broken record,

saying that your heart hurts,

that you never get over him getting over you,

I looked at everyone throughout the pub, they were all quietly enjoying the music, some even dancing a little. They were amazing, so talented, although their band name is kinda different. I smiled a little before looking back at Luke.

I dedicate this song to you,

the one who never sees the truth,

that I can take away your hurt, heartbreak girl.

hold you tight straight through the day light,

I'm right here, when you gonna realize

that I'm your cure, heartbreak girl

I bite my tongue but I wanna scream out

you could be with me now

but I end up telling you what you wanna hear,

but you're not ready and it's so frustrating

he treats you so bad and I'm so good to you it's not fair

As I listened to the lyrics, I couldn't help but feel that Luke was feeling this way, about me.

I instantly felt guilty as I looked at his bright smile onstage, the passion he was putting into this song was incredible.

I know someday it's gonna happen

and you'll finally forget the day you met him

sometimes you're so close to your confession,

I gotta get it through your head

that you belong with me instead,

I dedicate this song to you,

the one who never sees the truth

And that's all it took for me to start crying. I looked at Sidney and Jess who were enjoying the music, they were smiling and laughing happily, completely unaware to how I was feeling. I shook my head before turning round and pushing through the mass of people until I got to the door. I turned around and looked back to the stage, to Luke, and locked my eyes with his before mouthing the words "I'm sorry," then leaving the bar.
