"Urgh this sucks." Spencer Cavanaugh said, flopping down on the couch next to her husband. "I wanna go out, I wanna see the girls and I'd never thought I'd say this but I wanna go back to the office." she said, sighing.

"Wow, I'm that awful to be around, huh?" her husband, Toby, teased.

"Shut up, you know I don't mean you, I just want my life back." Spencer said, leaning over and kissing her husband on the cheek. Toby however, had other plans and turned his head, forcing Spencer to kiss his lips instead. She giggled as she kissed him a little harder before pulling away.

"I know you do baby, but this whole COVID thing is scary, and you know I want to keep you safe, both of you." he said, putting one hand on his wife's swollen belly.

Spencer was 5 months pregnant with the couple's first child which was due in late July. It was April 2020 and national quarantine had begun almost 4 weeks ago. Spencer couldn't believe how fast it had all happened. They'd only really begun to hear about Coronavirus in January. Both she and Toby had assumed it would be similar to the Swine Flu or Ebola outbreaks, it would be worse in some areas and you would need to be a little more careful but life would pretty much go on as normal. In only 2 months they'd gone from not really worrying to not even being allowed to leave their house.

Toby was especially worried about his wife, he didn't know how this virus could affect pregnant woman and already this baby was his world, apart from his wife of course.

They'd been stuck at home for 4 weeks and Spencer was sick of it. She was very much what Toby described as a "do-er". She liked to be out, working and seeing friends. Toby was a little more naturally introverted and whilst he hated not being able to do all the things he normally did, he found it far easier to stay home.

The thing that was getting both of them through was each other, they were both incredibly lucky that not only did they love each other but they were also best friends. Spencer and Toby never really had big arguments. Small things like what to watch on Netflix or where to order takeout from or how many points a word in scrabble was really worth, sure, and in high school they'd often argue about Toby's need to keep Spencer safe and Spencer's complete lack of caution when it came to her own safety but now they were married they rarely fought. They loved being around each other and they had their baby coming to focus all their energy on.

"Hmm." Spencer hummed. "Have I ever told you that you make it really hard to be a post modern feminist when you get so alpha male?" she asked him, thinking back to when she'd said it back in high school.

"You know you have." Toby teased, giving her an eskimo kiss. "Do you want me to stop?" he mumbled into her ear.

"Nope." said Spencer, leaning in and kissing him on the lips. Boy, if she hadn't been pregnant already she was pretty sure that after a quarantine alone with Toby, she would be.

They kissed slowly and sweetly, Toby swiping his tongue over Spencer's lip to ask for entrance. She granted it and they made out like teenagers until they were panting. They pulled apart and Toby swiped his thumb over her red and swollen lips. "How does that still feel as good as it did when we were 16?" Spencer asked, giggling. "Probably because you're still hot, insanely attractive and there's no risk of your parents walking in on us now." Toby replied, leaning in again and pecking her lips.

Spencer giggled against his lips and pulled away, groaning. "Stop, those memories still haunt me. The idea of my parents knowing that me and my boyfriend did anything more than hand-holding makes me feel gross." she said, burying her head in his shoulder.

"Well I hate to tell you this but I think they know we've been a bit further than hand-holding now." Toby replied, moving his hand from her waist to her belly, rubbing her bump.

Spencer laughed then suddenly turned a little serious. "I'm so glad you're with me in this. I couldn't imagine being stuck inside with anyone else for months."

"Back at you, baby. No one else I'd rather avoid a global virus with." he commented, kissing her head.

"Romantic babe, seriously." Spencer said dryly.

"Hmm, you know me, king of romance." Toby replied cheekily, winking at her.

"Yeah well, you romanced your way into into this situation." Spencer said, gesturing at her swollen belly.

"And I couldn't be happier about it." he told her, kissing her quickly on the lips again.

"What do you think they'll be like?" Spencer asked her husband.

"Our baby?" Toby asked. "Newborn with a six-pack of course." he joked, sending Spencer into a fit of giggles.

"Seriously Tobes!" she said, giving him a gentle shove.

"It's half me so maybe blue eyes or sandyish hair, a little introverted but knows what they want but it's also half you so maybe gorgeous light brown hair, chocolate eyes, always up for a challenge and strength like you wouldn't believe." he finished sweetly.

Spencer smiled adoringly at him and pulled him into a hug. They settled with Spencer's head on his chest and his hand running through her hair.

"What do you think they'll be like?" asked Toby.

"Well, like you said they're half you so the purest, most beautiful heart, stunning eyes and a natural instinct to protect but also half me so cynicism, a caffeine addiction and a love for you so powerful it could never break." she told him, smiling as he dropped a kiss on her head.

"I love you, angel. You know that?" he asked her.

"I know, and I love you too, so much it consumes me." she replied.

"I can't believe we're having a baby, like, together. You know I used to imagine it when I couldn't get to sleep because I was scared of -A." Spencer said after a moment of silence.

Toby looked shocked. "Really? I thought I knew you inside and out Hastings, and I never had you pegged as the type of girl who sat up and planned her wedding and thought about baby names." he said.

Spencer smiled. "Okay, I wasn't a wedding planner kind of girl, I left that to Hanna, but I would dream about a future without -A, where I'm with the boy of my dreams, with a job I love and a baby who is 50/50 me and the person I love. And I have that future." she said. "Also you can't know me that well if you get my name wrong." she added. Toby looked confused.

"You called me Hastings, that's not my name." she told him simply. Toby grinned. "I apologise, Cavanaugh." he said, kissing her hair again.

They were silent again for a moment until Spencer broke it again. "Did you ever think about it?" she asked.

"Marrying you? Yeah, a lot actually. I know that you were the person I wanted to be with for the rest of my life the first time I told you I love you. But it was the week you stayed with me when you fell out with your dad about my mom and Radley. Seeing you in my boxers and t-shirt, making dinner together, it just so domestic. I liked to imagine we were living together permanently." he told her honestly.

"Damn, I remember very different parts of that week to you." Spencer said, leaning up and starting to kiss his neck.

Toby bit back a groan at her actions. "Oh really? What do you remember?." he asked.

"Hmm let's see, I remember being 99% sure I'd be pregnant by the end of the week because of what we did in your bed, oh and in the kitchen, shower and couch." she said cheekily.

"What can I say? You look hot in my boxers." he replied.

"Hmmm, not as hot as you." she said, curling into him and shutting her eyes.

The world was a different place, it was scary and unknown and staying inside was boring but Spencer was grateful for what she had, great friends she could FaceTime, a job she could do from home, a fantastic house her husband had built specially and the best husband she could ever have. Oh, and a little angel on the way.

She might've been stuck, but at least she was stuck in a good place.
