The holidays were Toby's favourite time of the year.

The songs, the presents, the lights, the food and the atmosphere gave him chills that were different than the ones the freezing Rosewood air gave him.

Although now he was all grown-up, he still felt as excited and happy as when he was 7 everytime Christmas rolled around.

The thought of his beautiful Rosewood home decorated amazingly (by his slight control-freak of a girlfriend) filled him with joy all year round.

He'd built the house himself and was very proud of it, the idea came to him when Spencer, his girlfriend of 2 years, told him she was pregnant with their first child.

They'd been young at the time but welcomed their first daughter, Marion, with open arms and hearts.

She was a real daddies girl, despite looking exactly like her mom, and had already learnt to love Christmas like Toby did.

When, 2 years later, Spencer announced she was once again pregnant he knew their Christmasses would be even better.

Their second daughter, Serena, looked a lot like her too but inherited the same love of Christmas from her father.

Toby loved the fact she and Marion looked like their mother because each time he looked at them he was reminded of his beautiful girlfriend.

Toby had always wanted to get married to her but because of both the girls he'd never really got round to proposing, although they both knew she would say yes.

He planned to ask on Christmas night, so they'd always remember what day it was.

Christmas day in the Cavanaugh-Hastings household had been amazing, the girls had LOVED their gifts and playing in the freezing white snow and were now asleep, exhausted by the events of the day.

Spencer had made the most amazing Christmas meal Toby had ever eaten and now that the feast of turkey, potatoes, veggies and stuffing had been finished and packed away, Toby knew he needed to ask her.

The sky outside had turned dark and the stars shone brightly as they cuddled together watching a movie.

Toby looked at her and said "Can I ask you something?"

Spencer smiled and replied "Sure baby, anything."

Toby pulled her to her feet although she looked confused.

He got down on one knee and the breath caught in her throat.

"Spencer... Ever since I saw you in your freshman year I knew you were the woman I wanted to be with, you're the best, most wonderful woman I've ever met and yo-"

"Toby wait!" Spencer interrupted, knowing what he was about to do.

Toby's heart sunk, maybe she would say no, even though he knew how much he meant to her.

"Before you go on, I need to tell you something, then you can decide if you still want to ask me that question."

"Spence, nothing will stop me from asking that question. I promise."  Toby answered, almost hurt that Spencer thought he could leave her.

"I'm pregnant. Again." Blurted Spencer.

Toby looked at her, stunned, then he broke out into a huge smile and scooped her up, his arms around her.

"Spence that's the best news ever!!! Another mini us!" He exclaimed loudly, twirling her around and laughing.

"Well Merry Christmas! And as thrilled as I am that you're thrilled if you don't shut your mouth you're gonna wake up the children we already have!" Smiled Spencer.

"Why don't you make me then huh?" Toby whispered into her ear hotly, with what Spencer called his "Hot cop face": eyebrows raised, smirking.

Spencer laughed and leaned in, connecting their lips.

She pulled away first.

"Now, are you gonna finish what you started?" She teased.

Toby got down on one knee and simply said "No speech needed, you know how much I love you so... Spencer Hastings, will you marry me?"

"It would be an honour and a pleasure Mr Cavanaugh." Spencer grinned, unable to contain her happiness.

"Speaking of pleasure," Toby purred in her ear, "How about we skip to the honeymoon?"

Spencer giggled as he picked her up and carried her upstairs.

Yep...

Toby REALLY loved the holidays.
