SUMMER

"Mommy, you listening?"

"Y-yes?" I tried to compose myself before answering but I already found myself answering my daughter's question.

"The TV has no sound."

"Where's Auntie Drina? Why isn't she coming home anymore?"

"She has another baby na po?" She once again asked me with a worried face.

I laughed and pinched her plumped cheeks.

"Don't worry. I don't think Aunt Drina has another baby. She has baby Autumn. She don't need another baby." I tried to console her and it did worked.

"Something important came up and she has to leave baby Autumn for some time. But, she'll be coming home soon. I promise." Dagdag ko pa.

She nodded and pouted her pink and cute lips and transfered her gaze into the television.

It's been a week since I've seen Isaiah over the phone and I haven't received even a single call from Dawn and that makes me uncomfortable.

"If you're sleepy, tell mommy okay? It's near eight. You must be sleeping right now."

That was his Uncle River's gift.

Speaking of her uncle River, I can still remember how she called him Dada when she was so young. I don't know if I should laugh or I should cry because it's obvious that she's looking for her father's presence and attention.

She called him Dada for a month but we eventually got a chance to correct her and finally, she called him uncle for the first time.

"Mommy, sleepy me." She yawned and tucked my shirt.

I smiled at her, turned the TV off and carried her to our room.

I turn the lamp shade on instead of the light because we prefer sleeping in the dark instead of sleeping with lights on.

I placed her to the corner of our bed and sang her a lullaby and tapped her legs because this helps her sleep.

(A/N: this is the scene from the prologue. I just inserted some unfamiliar scenes to this part.)
