Chapter 2.6-
FeelingsDid Bakugo mention that he hated amusement parks? Sure, there were the rides that made adrenaline course through his veins, but he couldn't get over the noise, the loud sounds that make his hearing aids cut out only pissing him off. The clacking on the carts on the rails, the deafening screams of children, not getting the time to adjust to the sound's return. His head was pounding and he was tempted to blow the damn things up.
You were getting worried, during the two short hours you had been there, Bakugo's scowl had gotten worse and worse, suddenly he was lagging behind. The others payed the blonde no mind, it was obvious that his mood was sour and nobody would dare mess with him. Nobody except for you that is.
The tap Bakugo receives on his shoulder only gets a growl in response, but when you click your tongue, trying for a different attempt his head snaps up. You wave sweetly when he sets his eyes on you and his scowl only softens at the action.
'You ok?' You sign before grabbing onto the blonde boy to make sure you don't wander off.
'Hearing aids keep cutting out' You can feel the boys muscles flex under your grip causing your cheeks to heat up.
'Why not turn them off?' You opt to signing with your free hand. You watch as he huffs out a laugh. Personally he found your suggestion silly, he wasn't going to turn them off since there was always going to be the possibility of danger, and he didn't want to be late to the charge. He softly shakes his head moving so his arm so it rests on your shoulders only making your blush darker.
Personally, you love the fair. You're able to feel the vibrations of the ride and suddenly you didn't feel that different. Usually you came with Jirou, since the two of you had been inseparable since childhood, so having a group of friends with you felt... nice.
Even with those friends though, even with Jirou, even with Bakugo, it felt like you were still that scared, broken, middle school girl. To you, you were still different, you were still alien, you were still inferior. Due to that month of hell you still cant accept it. Bakugo making amends had helped, but he wasn't the only one, there were the people who'd bullied you before, the people who had bullied you after. You were still in pain, and sometimes it got to be too much.
It was getting to be too much.
The feeling of doubt mixed with the happiness and love. You weren't afraid to admit that, maybe, just maybe, you had caught feelings for the ash blonde. You could remember the initial thoughts of him, dismissing it as a childish crush, but when he came to the community center to apologize that day... the feelings came back full fledge. The things he had done though... you don't know why you forgave him, why you became so attached, why he became so dear to you. The thoughts of him, the bullying, him possibly leaving you and taking everyone else with him was overwhelming.
Quiet sniffling brought Bakugo's attention to you, the last thing he wanted to see was tears running down your face. The sight filled him with guilt, regret and pain, and he hated that feeling. The tap to your shoulder brought your eyes to his.
"Ferris Wheel?" He questions quietly, you easily being able to read his lips and nodding. He sits across from you in the small compartment, eyes full of worry and mouth set into a scowl.
"Sorry.." You almost whisper. You weren't one to talk often, too insecure about how your voice sounded. Bakugo's eyes widened upon hearing it, it was lisped, strained, but still beautiful to him, he'd never thought that he would be able to hear you speak.
"I... it's... it's fine" He stammers out, signing as he speaks so you wouldn't have to strain to read his lips. You giggle through the tears, the way his face had contorted from anger to shock was almost hilarious. 'Why are you crying?' He signs, face still holding a look of disbelief.
'No reason' You put a smile on, tears still streaming down your face.
'It's obviously something' He was getting angry now. You look to the side, down to the fair below. Maybe you could tell him your thoughts? Maybe you could reveal how you felt, maybe he wouldn't get mad, maybe he'd stay.
'I think I love you, but also I don't?' You signed the words quickly, turning your gaze back only to see him looking to the ground. Did he even see what you said? If so his reaction is far from good. The clicking of your tongue causes his head to snap up.
'You can tell me whats wrong you know.' He signs, you sigh, he obviously didn't see it.
'Maybe later.' Is all you reply looking back to the window.
Bakugo could only watch, cheeks finally heating, bright blush dusting his cheeks. He lets out a shaky sigh and his heartbeat picks up as he says words that may never reach your ears.
"I think I love you too."
