The sound of a running blender pierced through the empty house.
A lone boy stood in the kitchen, shifting back and forth on the heels of his feet as he waited for the contents he'd dumped in the machine to finally blend out.
"God, can't you at least mute? I'm going deaf from that," an annoyed voice came from the phone the boy was holding in his hand.
"Nah, you can suffer," the boy in the kitchen laughed, not turning off the blender or muting his cell phone call.
"Jacob, you can't see it right now but I'm flipping you off."
Jacob only laughed harder at this, finally finishing up his smoothie and switching the blender off.
"Wish I could see it. Are you still in Busan, by the way?" Jacob poured the drink out into a cup, casually grabbing a straw as he walked over to sit down at a table.
"Nah," the voice on the phone replied. "I'm back in Seoul right now. The company was thinking about putting me back in school."
Jacob took a sip of the drink, glancing around the empty dining room. It was rather dark, as he hadn't bothered to turn the house lights on before evening came.
"Well don't come back here, I don't wanna be stuck with you for another year," Jacob joked, receiving a loud 'HEY!' in return.
"Shut up, gay boy. You love me," the boy on the other end retorted.
"You're even gayer than me. How's that crush of yours on your choreographer working out, huh?" Jacob fought back, receiving only silence in return.
"We don't talk about that," the boy said after a moment. "How's your crush on the straight boy going, huh?" he mocked back.
"Better than yours, headass. I almost kissed mine," Jacob bragged, hearing a snicker through the speaker.
"Almost? What, like you tried and he said no or something?" the boy on the other end mocked, Jacob now offended at the comment.
"We'll see who's laughing when he's my boyfriend and you're still single," Jacob replied calmly, ignoring the string of insults tossed back at him by his friend.
Jacob's attention was grabbed by a notification at the top of his screen, one labeled as being from Instagram.

@singsongyuqi tagged you in a comment: "uhh come collect your..."

-"Umm, Jacob, you good?" the boy on the other end of the phone asked, having heard Jacob go silent while reading.
"Yeah, sorry, what?" Jacob said, not paying attention at all as the other continued talking.
He tapped on the notification, and Instagram quickly loaded up, bringing him to the page of a post.
He subconsciously raised his eyebrows looking at it, before scrolling down to the comments where Yuqi had apparently tagged him.
