Kevin had reached a whole new level of anxiousness at this moment.

He stood at the door of a house somewhat far from his own, searching for the bravery to go up and knock on the door.
Its side displayed the address Jacob had sent him a couple of days prior, and Kevin had arrived just a few minutes early.

He fidgeted for a moment at the doorstep. He hadn't texted Jacob that he was coming or anything... should he have?

He took a moment to compose himself before knocking on the door.

While waiting for a moment, he looked over himself in the reflection of the window next to the door.
It might have been pointless to try to fix himself up now, but he couldn't help adjusting his hair and shirt just a little.

The door swung open, with a dark haired man who Kevin had never seen before standing in the doorway.

He made eye contact with the stranger, staring at him for a moment. The man seemed to look him up and down briefly, before nodding his head.

"He said you'd be here about now. Wait a sec, I'll get him," he said, gesturing for Kevin to stay at the door for just a moment.

Kevin resisted the temptation to distract himself with his phone. He stood quietly as he heard the man walk into the house, shouting various things as he headed towards a back room.

"Please, stop, I can hear you, I know!" a voice shouted back from a room in the house, making Kevin instantly feel nervous.
He hadn't even texted Jacob since... that, and had no idea how the elder would act today.

Jacob strolled into the living room, grabbing a pair of items from a side table and shoving them in his pocket.

He made eye contact with Kevin, who stood at the door, and gave him a soft smile before looking back at his brother who was speaking to him.

Kevin felt like he'd been stabbed in the heart. At least he seemed normal, so far.

Jacob finally made his way to the door, quickly waving his brother off as he stepped outside.
He shut the door, leaving him alone with just Kevin.

"Sorry, he's kinda overprotective," Jacob apologized, now glancing towards Kevin.

"No... it's fine, I get it," Kevin dismissed, feeling a bit jittery from the other looking at him.

"Come on then, I'm driving," Jacob beckoned for the other to follow him.
Kevin obeyed, and walked close behind as the other led him to his car parked outside.

"Kev," Jacob spoke as he unlocked the door of his car, swinging it open.

Kevin glanced at him as they sat down in the front seats.
"Yeah?" he replied, closing the door softly behind him.

Jacob didn't look at him, instead adjusting the rear view mirror of the car.
"You look cute," he said quietly.

Kevin held back a smile at this. "Not as cute as you," he replied, hoping his shyness couldn't be heard.

Jacob only shook his head as he turned on the car and begun to back out of the driveway.

The pair sat in silence for a moment as he did so, neither knowing what to talk about now.

"You can, um, put on some music or something if you want?" Jacob spoke, pulling his phone out with the hand he wasn't using to drive.
