One minute remained until the end of class. Kevin stared at the clock in agony, counting every second until the bell rang.

He had no idea how he'd survived the school day so far. He was tired as hell, and was borderline passed out through all of his classes.

The reason? He'd stayed up until about 6 AM, texting Jacob like an idiot, not bothering to check the time.
He couldn't even be mad at the elder for it. He'd probably forgotten to check as well.

Finally, the sound of the bell rang out, telling Kevin he was free for the day. He stood up, swung his bag over his shoulder, and shoved his chair back in haphazardly.

"Kevin?"  someone called his name from behind him as he walked towards the door.

He turned around, looking down at a friendly looking girl a couple inches shorter than him. "Um, hi?" he spoke. For some reason she looked a little familiar, but he had no idea why.

"You're friends with Eric, right?" she asked, making Kevin's eyes widen.

"Yes... why?" he said cautiously, not knowing why being associated with the other boy made him so startled.

"Could you tell him Wonyoung needs to talk to him? Like, immediately?" the girl said, giving Kevin a pleading look.

"Oh... sure?" Kevin spoke as he got out his phone, clicking on Eric's contact and relaying the message.

"You said your name is what?" Kevin questioned after a moment of typing.

"Oh, it's—"
"Wonyoung?" a voice cut her off from behind Kevin in the hallway.

Kevin whipped around immediately, his brain recognizing whose voice it was.

"Oh— hey," spoke Jacob, who stood in the hallway, hands shoved in his pockets.

Kevin found a smile rising to his face as he made eye contact with the other boy.
"Hi," he spoke timidly towards him, seeing Jacob grin in return.

"You two know each other?" Jacob asked, looking between Kevin and Wonyoung.

"Um..." Kevin trailed off as the girl nodded in reply. He honestly didn't know why she was saying yes when this was the first time he'd ever spoken to her.

"Yeah. We have this class together," she answered. Jacob gave her a small smile, nodding in understanding.

"Well, um, Kevin, can I talk to you for a little bit?" Jacob said, not so subtly glancing back and forth between the two. "Alone?"

Kevin felt like his heart rate had spiked. Why did that phrase sound do serious? Was he supposed to feel really nervous upon hearing those words?

"Sure... but wait, uh..." Kevin turned to Wonyoung, seeing her wave for him to go.

"It's fine. I'll find him," she said, gesturing for Kevin to put his phone away. The boy reluctantly did so, and was startled as Jacob grabbed him by the wrist and gently tugged Kevin to follow him out the door.

The pair walked mostly in silence, with Jacob leading Kevin to god knows where. He walked a couple of steps behind, looking down at his wrist which Jacob held tightly.

The urge to hold his hand was stupidly powerful. Kevin really was thankful for his self restraint at that moment.

"Where are we goin?" Kevin asked after a short while, still confused as to the other's destination.

"Parking lot," Jacob answered, throwing Kevin's expectations wildly off.

"Huh..?" Kevin returned, his brain going wild at the answer. "What are you gonna do, kill me?" he asked jokingly, although his mind certainly had some... other ideas.
