Kevin approached the darkened front door of his house, his nerves making him scared of every sound he heard.

He'd woken up around half an hour prior, in the warm backseat of a car, cuddled up to a cute boy.

While that was nice and all, he'd nearly pissed himself in fear upon realizing that it had already become dark outside.

After a fumbled, awkward goodbye, he'd practically ran to his house, hoping he wouldn't be killed on the spot when he got home.

He fumbled with his house keys, unlocking the door, then slowly pushed it open, slipping through as silently as possible.

"Kevin!" a woman's voice shouted from within the house, making him wince. Dammit, he'd been caught.

Giving up, he shut the door normally, walking into the kitchen from where he'd been called.

Kevin's mother stood at the counter, arms crossed. She was a fair amount shorter than her son, but still a scary woman when when she desired to be.

"Why are you so late, kid?" she interrogated, looking more worried than mad.

"Didn't you get my text?" Kevin lied on the spot. He'd become quite good at doing so after years of practice. "I went over to Eric's to finish up a project."

The mom sighed, leaning against a counter. "Alright. Just... call me or something next time, okay?" she reasoned, unknowingly making Kevin feel a slight bit guilty.

"Okay. Sorry mom," he said in reply. She only gave him a sympathetic look, gesturing that he could go off and do what he wanted.

Kevin scurried off to his room, thankful that his mom hadn't been mad about it.
He shut his door and immediately ran over to his bed, jumping on it.

As if on autopilot, he whipped out his phone, opening his text messages and sending a spam of letters to the first contact on the list.
