Chapter 3: operation beat Chanel!
Akeelah's pov
I finished my dinner and went upstairs to my room.
Chanel doesn't deserve to treat people like that!
Especially not because of her family owns the school this isn't fair. I have to think fast, what could I do just to beat her?..... I'm just an ordinary girl.
"hey sweetie are you okay?" my stepmom entered the room, Ella.
"uhm.. I'm okay" I answered.
"stop lying to me, now tell me what's the problem?" she asked.
"its like I'm losing my confidence, I think I'm scared." I lowered my head trying not to get an eye contact with Ella.
"scared? "
" I'm just scared that I might lose, I'm mean my enemy is powerful not like me.... I'm just a weak kid"
"Akeelah.." I felt her hands on my shoulder.
"this is just your first day things will just get better soon"
"but how can I beat her?" I asked.
"if you can't beat her on her own game then be the game!"
"huh?.. what does it even mean?" I chuckled.
"I don't even know what I'm saying I just found it on some website" she chuckled also.
"but just don't forget not to lose your hope.. okay?" she smiled at me.
"okay I will make sure" I smiled back.
"now go to sleep your dad might get mad again" she laughed and left the room.
Even though Ella I just my stepmom I treat her I like my own mom and she is really nice and kind. Ella is right I shouldn't lose hope.
Chanel is just a spoiled brat and she can't beat me I know I will win this battle because the students deserve freedom and I know this is the only the beginning of my journey!
I will not lose my hope just because of a spoiled and crazy brat!!
__few weeks later__
"good morning class and for today I want to announce the school top since the top 3 of the school tops are in this class" the professor said.
" I don't want to waste any minute here in this class so I'm already going to say it.... Our 3rd school top is Cyryll Alcantara and our 2nd is Chanel Amore Alcantara.... And ranked as 1st is Akeelah Maze Montefalco, congrats to you all and God bless" our prof added.
I can't believe this! I'm the schools top student.
"hey!" I looked in front of me then I saw Chanel.
"do you really think your smart?" she added
"well I think so" everyone was looking at us from what I said.
"YOU PIECE OF SHIT!" She almost slapped my face when I blocked her hand"
"Chanel if your really that smart then why are you ranked as 2nd" I smirked.
"and also you can't beat me" I added and left him standing there but someone barged in front of me.
"Cyryll.. what do you want?" he didn't answer my question and just pulled me into the locker area.
"I already told you not to mess with her!" he complained.
"I don't want anyone to get harmed again just because of her" he added.
"then leave me alone and let me do my thing" I answered and left him.
I walked away from him and just let my feet bring me to another place. I stop by the bulletin board and looked if there is anything that's new. My eyes widen when I saw that in the next 2 weeks we will have a election for the new school councils.
I heard that the last 3 years Chanel was the president of the council and I know Chanel is going to be running as the president this year again. It's my time to show what I got and beat Chanel.
__lunch break__
Alice's pov
"hey Akeelah, do you want to have lunch with me?" I asked while Akeelah is still on her laptop.
"I just a sec, I'm planning to run as the president for the school council and I still need two members to join my party" she said while her attention is still on her laptop.
"you seriously want to compete with her?" I asked.
"of course there is no problem about that" she answered.
"of course there is"
"then I still don't care, maybe you want to join also... I still need 2 more"
"please" she added.
"but if I join would you promise me that Chanel would not hurt me also?" I questioned.
"sure, I will protect you" I she smiled.
"okay fine... I'll join your party" I smiled back.
"I promise as your president I will make sure that students would have their own freedom" she said and hugged me.
Akeelah is such a smart girl, she deserves to win this election and I know she will win.
__few minutes later__
Akeelah's pov
Alice is such a good help even though we just met, know I still need one member to complete my party and so that I can join the election and beat Chanel.
I went to the library to get some quiet time and so that I can also study for my next class. So I sat on one of that chairs in the corner of the library and started reading my textbooks.
"hey Akeelah..."
I raise my head to look at the man and I saw Cyryll again. Gosh what's wrong with him.
"look I'm sorry for about earlier I shouldn't have said those things to you" he said.
"I heard that you were needing another person for your party?" he added.
"so what do you want?... force me not to join election?!" I glared at him.
"no.....actually I want to join your party, so can I join?" he tried to hold my hand but I avoided him. The bell rang and I went to my class so he was left standing there.
