I was still thinking about what Akeelah said to me, I mean I always knew she's a great person and she's very kind but the words she told me,
'if you have a voice, use it! If you see injustice, tell it!"
Just can't get out of my head.
"You good?" my sister walked towards me in the balcony.
"I'm just stressed about school, that it" I said without emotions.
"Really? You're God damn stress!" she complained.
"huh?"
"Did you had fight?!" she chuckled.
"No!" I tried denied. Well Akeelah and I are in good terms but...
"You were thinking about what mom and dad told you?" she patted my back. I think that was it, that's why I'm worried about stuff!
We had a dinner a while ago and mom and dad asked if the rumors were true that I had a girlfriend...well I didn't what to lie at that time so I said yes... but I didn't expect that they would want to meet Akeelah, I'm still overthinking about it! Akeelah was the type of person to fight for the truth and my parents was always the opposite, they always hide the truth and always lie about how corrupt they were but I chose to stay quiet for the sake of peace!
"Can you tell big sis about her?" she asked politely.
"Well she is very pretty, she has a short hair that end at her shoulders, she is a little bit grumpy at times" I chuckled.
"But she is always kind, loving, she is also very smart, she is always there if someone needs her and she never cares about what anyone thinks about her if she knows she is doing the right thing!" I smiled at myself.
"You know what I think?" she raised a brow.
"What?"
"You chose the right person, Cy! Your already a grown man! I'm proud of you!" she smiled and messed up me hair.
"But I'm still not sure about mom and dad, she's the complete opposite of her!"
"You shouldn't worry about that kind of stuff, Cy! The important thing is you love her...and what's matter the most!" I could see her tears started to fall.
"Look who's talking! You didn't even have a relationship!" I laughed.
"Yah! I told you many times not to bring that topic ever again!" she looked pissed.
"Well I have to go to my condo, it's getting late" I fixed myself.
"Why? Can't you just sleep in this mansion?!" she furrowed.
"I don't want to be late at school... and also I don't want to her mom and dad scolding me again!" I whispered the last part. Then left the house.
I'm sure about Akeelah! I wanted to be with her! But the only I'm worried the most is my parents, They would freak out if they would now that Akeelah and I are dating, they were pretty angry about the Channel and Akeelah's scandal in the school, Channel was my cousin and mom always treated her as her own child. That why they got furious about it, mom I always keeping an eye on Akeelah, she always hated her because of that, but I think dad was comfortable with Akeelah, he told me she was very intelligent and he was impressed. I hope I won't change if they knew I was dating Akeelah.
__The next day__
Akeelah's pov
I was busy the whole week since the exam week has already started and Alice and I already talked about Diane's case, I could see Diane being uncomfortable talking to it since it was very traumatizing.
"Hey Akeelah!" Alice shouted from afar while walking towards me at the gate.
"yeah?"
"Good news! They already declared to transfer Corey out of the school!" she sounded happy while putting her arms around me. I can finally breath well!
"But we still need to talk about Diane's case" she tried to make it positive.
"Yeah! it's alright" I faked smiled. "Let's hurry I don't wanna be late again!"
We walked until we reach the building and headed to the second floor to attend our class, I still can't think straight and I'm still stressing about things.
"Hey Akeelah?" Alice stopped walking while texting. "Diane said..." she took a deep breath to continue. "She said she I willing to file against Mr. Panganiban" she tried to whisper the last part.
"Yeah tell her let's meet after class!"
__few hours later__
"She told me she's at the gym" Alice talked while walking in front of my.
I entered the gym, we saw the a group of cheerleaders practicing their stunt , I think?! We saw to cheerleaders pass by us they whispering something, my eyes widen when I heard them talking ang laughing.
"Yeah! She's a slut! Who the hell would sleep with Mr. Panganiban?!" the cheerleader smirked while talking.
"Who else? The one and only slut! Diane!" the other one laughed.
Excuse me? Did I just hear that right? That's not what happened! How could this girls talk dirty shits about Diane?! I saw Diane walk towards us and I could see how pissed the other girls, they rolled their eyes at Diane and left.
"Hey you alright?" Diane gave a smile like nothing happend.
"Of-course no! those girls are talking shit behind your back!" I argued like a was ready to take those girls down.
"Don't mind them they are Briana and Tayra! They are my friends!" She smiled.
"And what kind of friends talk shit behind your back? and make fun of you?" Alice fired back. I could see Diane trying to clean the image of those two.
"Coz' I always chose to stay silent rather than talk bullshit with those two!"
"And that's why you wanted to help him?"
"No, Cy, my mom always says that to me, always help people who need help
