Akeelah's pov
"Akeelah! The food is ready!" Akira shouted downstairs.
"Let's go?" Cyryll asked wiping my tears.
"Yeah,"
We went down stairs to eat dinner. We entered the dining area and Akira was helping Ella with the food, dad was still not home.
"Akeelah!" Ella hugged me. "I missed you! I didn't see you a while ago I was busy with the food."
"It's okay!"
"Cyryll! Long time no see!" She greeted.
"Yeah, it's been a long time." Cyryll warped his hand around my waist, pulling me to sit right next to him.
"Your dad isn't home yet, he still needs to fix something." Ella explained, sitting in front of us.
We started eating and we talked about some things. We paused for a moment when a phone rang.
"Um...E-excuse me," Akira stood up nervously.
"Anyways, Cyryll? How long are you going to stay in LA?" Ella asked.
"I'm not really sure about it. My parents will be busy meeting some clients and I don't really want to stay long there." Cyryll answered politely.
We finished eating and Cyryll volunteered to wash the dishes for me so I could get ready for bed. As I was walking on the hallway I stop at Akira's door when I heard him talk to someone.
"Okay take care, I love you, babe!" I heard Akira's foot steps near so I rushed inside my room. Did I heard it right? Babe? Does she have a boyfriend? Or maybe just a friend?
"Okay, maybe it was just a misunderstanding." I thought to myself. I clear my mind up and took a shower. I did my skincare routine and wore my pajamas and went outside.
"You can take a shower now." I gave a spare towel to Cyryll.
"Your dad is already down stairs."
"O-okay,"
I went down stairs and saw dad talking with someone at the phone. He glanced at me when he noticed my presence.
"Yeah, let's discussed it tomorrow." He ended the call and walk towards me to great me.
"I missed you!" he hugged me.
"I missed you too!"
"I met Cyryll just a minute ago and now he's telling me you are now together?" he asked seriously, making me nervous.
"Umm...yeah," I tired to look away.
"Well then... that's great!" He cupped my face and kissed me on my forehead. After that dad went upstairs to change I was left in the living room with Ella.
"You know...we should celebrate, let's bake brownies tomorrow!" Ella suggested, sitting beside me.
"Sure,"
We went upstairs to sleep. I entered the room and saw Cyryll unpacking his things.
"You can sleep already; I'll just fix my things." I nodded and climbed up on my bed. Cyryll closed his bags and climbed on the bed, I turned around to face the wall, I was about to doze of when I felt his breath on my neck and his hands wrapped around my waist pulling me closer to him.
__THE NEXT DAY__
I woke up and Cyryll wasn't beside me. Maybe he's down stairs. I got up and brushed my teeth to go down stairs.
"Should I put the sugar now?" I heard Cyryll's voice down stairs.
"NO! You are supposed to mix the sugar and the butter in a separate bowl." Ella panicked, they were baking brownies in the kitchen, I could say it's a disaster.
"Hi, love!" Cyryll smiled at me with flour on his face.
"Gosh! Why didn't you wake me up?" I asked, helping him with the dry ingredients.
"Okay I have to go now! We still have a meeting." Dad shouted from the living room.
"Bye, dad!" I shouted back.
"Cy, can you pass me the spoon?" Ella asked.
"Here!" Cyryll replied.
We already baked the brownies in the oven and now we're chilling in the living room, Akira's busy talking to someone in her room, I think it was the same person who called last night.
Cyryll's pov
We were sitting on the coach, watching tv. Akira left to answer a phone call and I could notice Akeelah is very bothered but I chose not to ask anymore. I was patient waiting for the brownies.
"Let's go outside." Akeelah whispered. We stood up and went outside, I could feel how her head is clouded, she's over thinking again.
"You okay?" I asked.
"Yeah, I've just been over thinking again." She chuckled.
"Is there a problem?" She just shocked her head. "I'm going to leave tomorrow so if there's something bothering you just tell me already."
"It's nothing don't make it such a big deal."
"Okay, fine,"
We just stood there, staring at the rising sun, I held her hands.
"Your phone is ringing." I was spacing out when I felt my phone vibrating. " I should go inside already I think the brownies are ready.
"Okay, I'll just answer this." I took out my phone and answered mom's call.
[Cyryll! Where the heck are you?] I heard mom's high-pitched voice, echo.
"I'm in Pampanga."
[WHAT?! what are you doing there?!] I could feel mom getting angry, I chose not to mention Akeelah to her or she will just burst out of angriness.
"I'm with my friends." I reasoned out.
[And you didn't inform me? We're leaving first thing in the morning tomorrow! How could you forget that?!]
"WHAT?! You told me we're leaving the day after that?"
[My sched has been moved. Go back here in Manila or else!] My mother's voiced stormed.
"What-"
"Cy?" I was cut off when Akeelah popped out from nowhere.
