Two Broken Hearts

Chapter nineteen

Matteo's POV:

I was beyond shocked. Maria and I were now in the car, she was long sleeping and I was driving to Zagreb. (The capital city of Croatia, where we grew up)

I couldn't comprehend what happened. At one point my men are covering for me, shooting those idiots and then I'm held at gun point.

All of a sudden Maria, Sam and Kelsey are shooting them down and Maria is in fucking killing mode, going off.

She took care of that fucking jerk Dino, he is second in command to someone. Thank God she was smart enough not to kill him, I need information about who exactly are they.

Later I called more of my men to clean up the mess at the hotel and make sure police isn't involved. I don't need the fucking cops right now.

As I was driving I looked to the beautiful creature sleeping next to me. I couldn't believe she didn't take the chance and ran off, especially after our fight where I specifically said I'm not letting her go.

I will admit... She is good. She was calculated and fast, and that's exactly how are you supposed to be in this business.

I get why she is so passionate about what she does. Even if it's not something to be proud about... To people like us.. that's normal.

Then my phone rang...

"Talk!" I said grumpily.

"Boss, Dino is awake. He says he won't say anything until the bullet is out of his leg." It was Sam. And the little shit was finally awake.

"Sam, we will stop at the warehouse, the third one, you know where it is?"

I had a lot of people in Croatia so I had my warehouses there too. All over Croatia.

"Sure, be right there in half an hour." Sam said and I ended the call.

All of a sudden she spoke: "I know how to take a bullet out, I will do it. I just need some supplies."

I grinned: "Why are you awake?"

She opened her eyes and straighted up: "I heard the phone rang and wanted to listen." She shrugged.

Of course she did..."Well we're not going to take the bullet out, he is going to be dead either way. It just depends on what he knows." I told her.

"I still think we should take the bullet out to make him think he will survive, of course he won't. But we have to be smart, someone is after us and knows where we are, he is our only source of telling us who." She answered seriously.

"OK, flower, we'll see." I replied as I smirked at her. She is also smart and beautiful... This girl...

Maria's POV:

We came in front of the warehouse. There were about 40 men and women there. All in black, all had guns and weapons. They greeted Matteo with respect and I could see he has authority here too.

He talked to a few people about some shipments and business.

Then Sam and Kelsey parked the car.

They got out with this Dino guy. He was yelling and cursing.

"You motherfucker better bring me to fucking hospital!" He yelled, but everyone ignored him.

I spoke to him first: "Dino don't worry, I shot you, I'm going to operate on you. You know... I always wanted to be a doctor. Now I get a chance to practice. But don't worry it's not my first time. The first time... This guy died. So I will say I have some skills." I smiled sweetly at him.
