A/N: If you know the Croatian game with cards that will be said down in the story ... I love you!
Comment later if you know how to play it.

Enjoy!

Maria's POV:

I sat down next to Leoniv and opposite me sat my dad and next to my dad sat Matteo.
(*If you don't get it, basically it's a game where two players are against two players and they sit like I explained and the game starts.)

I still didn't know what were we playing until Leoniv spoke.

"We're playing your game- bella. We're going to play three rounds and who wins, wins. I know all of us are very competitive. Ivan and I are playing together and you and the girl are playing together. You all know the rules. May the best win." He smirked.

As soon as he said bella my eyes sparkled with joy. I really like to play that game and I would say I am a pro at it.

Matteo and I made eye contact and we smiled.

Back in Croatia we would always play this game. First he would win but then I got really good and I would win too.

I didn't play it in a long time but I was ready.

Bring it on!

The game started and we were almost finished with the first round. A round usually lasts for about an hour.

We had a guy who tracked the scores and the numbers. Basically who first gathers a thousand points they win.

We were almost the same. Now who wins more in this they win the round.
This time I had good cards but I could tell Matteo wasn't really lucky.

It was all about luck. You shuffle the cards and then give everyone ten cards. What you get... You get. Every card brings some kind of points at the end which you add together and do that until one of you get to thousand.

When I thought that we would win, everything was going alright, in our favor, my dad called "bella" which means he has 20 points more.

We were fucked.

At then end we counted the cards and I could see we failed by one point.

I groaned.

Leoniv looked at me and chuckled: "Don't worry it's just the first round. We are just getting started." He said while shuffling the cards.

I rolled my eyes and saw Matteo looking at me and winking.

He had something planned because he hated losing and he was in a good mood.

I grinned, trusting him completely.

I lit a cigare, trying to relax a little.

The second round started.

It was pretty intense but we won the second round. Matteo always had something good to save us if we didn't have good cards.

The men were getting a little bit frustrated and I honestly didn't know how did he do it.

Then the third and final round started, this one is crucial that we win! Who wins this one, wins the whole game.

The cards were being thrown and we were losing. Then when I thought that we would completely lose everything, luck turned on my side.

I got the second biggest thing in this game. I got 200 points because I had four of the same cards in every color and I proudly showed them.

Matteo chuckled while taking a sip of his whiskey.
