I opened my eyes.
Water hugged my body.
I looked around and only saw outlines of the car. The water was dark green looking, a little light shined through it making the tiny particles of dirt and rock become visible.
I looked down and saw my seatbelt still on me tightly secured.
I tried to take it off but the lock of it wouldn’t budge.
Fuck, when you want to get you it doesn’t let you. But if you’re in a car crash it lets you fly sky high? Stupid “Car experts”.
I closed my eyes once again and let a few bubbles out my nose.
“OLIVER!” I squealed.
“NO COME HERE!” he yelled behind me chasing me around.
The sheets were wrapped securely around me as I ran in our new apartment. I climbed on the couches as he ran out of our room with a Viking hat on. I laughed as he tried to tackle me.
I jumped out of the way and he landed on the other couch with his feet up and head on the floor. He got up and looked at me. His boxers half way down, messy hair under his hat, and his chest rising then falling.
“Come here love.” He calmly said pointing in front of him.
I shook my head and ran.
I ran picking up my under clothes and put them on fast in the kitchen. I hid under the dining room’s table. I saw his feet and I ran out.
“NO!” I yelled like a little kid.
“GOD DAMNIT ZEN I’M WARNING YOU!”
“NO!”
“ZEN!”
“OLIVER!”
“ZEN!
“DON’T USE UP THE NAME LOVE!”
“HAAAAA!”
“OH MY GOD!”
He tackled me. We rolled on the floor and he sat on my back as I tried to get out from under him. I tried swaying to the left and right but he wouldn’t budge.
“Oliveeerrr you’re such a Fatass!” I whined.
“Aww now we both know that’s not true! You’re not strong enough because you don’t eat your veggies!” he said shaking his a little.
He jumped up a little then landed on me again. I groaned trying to catch air. He let me shift over to my back so that he would be sitting on my stomach. I glared at him and looked at his Viking hat.
“Why do you have that?” I laughed out.
“I don’t know. I found it in Jona’s closet.” He shrugged.
Suddenly we both stopped moving. We eyed each other for a second before getting up screaming.
“HOW CAN YOU WEAR THAT?!”
“I DON’T KNOW!”
“DO YOU KNOW WHAT HE DOES WITH THAT?!”
“I’VE SEEN PICTURES!” Oliver shrieked.
“I’m never touching your hair. You either shave you head and burn the hair or you disinfect your head.” I said shaking my head while crossing my arms.
“I guess I’m going to pick the second choice.”
“Good.”
Oliver and I held hands as we walked by the lake that was in the middle of the park. In front of us walking his dog was his mother. His brother was with his girlfriend buying some ice cream cones.
I felt Oliver’s gaze on me. I looked at him and smiled. I turned my attention to the duck that was in front of me asking for some bread that I had in my hand.
“What?” I asked leaning down to feed the duck.
“Did you ever imagine us being like… this?” he asked feeding some ducks too.
“What do you mean ‘This’?” I asked back.
“Us two being together. As boyfriend and girlfriend?”
I looked up at the sky. Wind blew some of my hair as I stood up. I threw the last of my bread to the pack of ducks in the water. I reached into the bag of bread Oliver bought for us and got a little more.
Oliver stood up and looked at me. Waiting for a respond.
“To be honest Oli… not really. I mean, there were times where I thought of you and I never fighting. Like us being friends. But I just thought I was a fool for thinking that. I would laugh at myself for it.” I said shaking my head looking down.
I pulled a strand of my hair behind my right ear. He reached over and grabbed my hand.
“Me either. I did fancy you but I tried to ignore the feelings by thinking bad about you. That’s how I tried to cope with our fights and myself.” He said eating some bread.
“Why ignore them? You should’ve told me about it and maybe things would’ve been different.”
“But don’t you think it was better this way? I mean yeah it might’ve been better the other way but it could’ve been awkward for us like that. I like how we became close this way.” He asked swaying our hands.
I thought about it a second. I tilted my head to the left a little and smiled as he waited for me to respond.
“I guess your right Oliver, if it was the other way I probably would’ve think you wankered to an old high school picture of me.” I laughed.
“Don’t be silly love, it would’ve been to the picture I accidently took of you when you were changing in your room.” He winked at me.
“God you pervert!” I laughed shoving him.
“MAYBE BUT YOU LOVE ME!” He yelled making his mom turn to look at us.
Oskar ran towards us and I patted his tiny head. The pup then jumped on to Oliver’s shoes. Oliver picked him up and ran with him to a hill were he lay with the pup on his chest.
I watched him lovingly as they played.
“You know Zen; I always knew you and my boy would date. I saw the looks you both gave each other.” His mother told me making me remember she was next to me.
“You mean the daggers and ugly faces?” I laughed.
She chuckled and shook her head. “No love, the one behind those daggers and ugly faces.”
She sighed and put her hand on my shoulder. “The look of love.”
I smiled. I looked at her then at Oliver again.
“It’s because truly love him.”
