"After the Heartbreak" (Kaede)

So...I don't have...characters that have been in crappy relationships. But I have had crappy families for them. So Imma just have young Kaede being pissed and sad about her parents leaving her, primarily saying it was for Azami's benefit.

Azami POV

    "Kaede?" I called quietly, tears in my eyes. Where had she gone? "Jade?" Maybe she would respond to that. "Where are you?"
     In the dark, I cautiously opened the front door. It was so hard to see. I closed it behind me, and stumbled down the front stairs, standing on the sidewalk in the cold.
     Where had my sister gone?

     Singing came to me on the wind. I followed the sound, shivering as the cold air bit at my bare skin. Maybe Kaede would be the source of the singing. Or whoever it was could help me find her.
    It came from an alley. I stood at it's entrance.

"Footsteps are pounding like echoes when you came to take me."
"Shadows surround me and swallow the color of my dreams."
"The space in our bed, reminds us that you're gone."
"You're voices in my head, reply like a damn song."
"And the screams and the lies, they tear me up inside!"
"We're left with an empty sky."

"Have you ever seen the sun, after the heartbreak? Frozen somewhere in time."
"Have you ever seen the stars after wordless goodbyes?"
"I am lost in the dark, hate to be where you are. So hard to keep it together when you pulled her apart."
"Haunted by your disguise, disappeared with the lies. Days and nights feel like forever, all our innocence has died."
"Has died."
"Have you ever seen the sun?"
"Have you ever seen the stars?"
"I've seen them before in your eyes!"
"After the heartbreak, frozen somewhere in time."

"Haunted by your disguise, disappeared with the lies. Days and nights feel like forever, all my innocence has died."
"After the heartbreak..."
A choked sob sounded. "Kaede?" I asked quietly.
    Familiar pink eyes flashed in the light, meeting mine. I ran to her, letting my tears fall. She hugged me tightly, her body shaking from sobs.

Kaede POV

     My sister cried into my chest, but it was I who was shaking. As much as I hated my parents, I was still hurt that they left us.
     "I thought you left me." Azami whispered. I went rigid. After our parents left us, if she lost anyone else it would break her. I ran my hands through her dark hair, crying.
     "I won't leave you. I'll be with you always. I promise." I whispered. "We'll be okay." That was more to comfort myself than to comfort her. Azami nodded into my chest, and pulled away slightly. The cold bit at my skin, but I let her move away, watching her through tear-filled eyes.
     "I won't leave you either." She threw her arms around my neck. I nodded, trying to calm my breathing. "I love you, Azami-chan." I murmured. "I love you too, Kaede."
