RUN BOY RUN

"oh, i get by,
with a little help from my friends"

2019

"KLAUS, YOU MOTHERF—" TWO PAIRS of loud and hurried footsteps were heard running down the hallways of the academy.

"Please! (Y/N), it was just a joke! I'm sorry, please!" The second voice squealed as they struggled to escape from the thundering voice. The two were faced with an obstruction ahead, in the tight hallway, where another boy was.

"(N/N), could you keep it down?" Five grumbled as he walked out of his room, half of the hair on his head messy and matted to a side, rubbing his eyes tiredly. "Some of us are trying to sleep."

Klaus saw Five as a chance to get away from (Y/N). And so, he quickly ducked behind the sleepy boy and used him as a shield against his sister.

"And Dad doesn't allow that kind of language, by the way!" Klaus yelled from behind him. Oh, the nerve

"Five, get out of the way! I need to make sure Klaus knows never to pull that stupid prank on me again!" She growled, clawing at the boy shrouding behind his brother.

Five, still in his tired and dazed state, reached out and held (Y/N) by the shoulders. "What's he done?"

"This idiot here decided it would be a good idea to summon one of his ghost buddies to give me a little scare. I would've been fine if I didn't end up spilling my freshly made (F/D) all over Ben's book I borrowed!"

Turning his head to the side, Five raised a questioning brow at him and asked, "Klaus, is this true?"

"Well— yeah, but—"

Klaus was cut off by Five, not even wanting to hear his excuses. "Then you know never to do it again, am I right?"

"Yeah..."

"Good. No apologies required; lesson learned," Five shrugged. "(N/N), now that that's settled, go back to bed."

"But—" she protested.

"No 'but's. Either you come downstairs and have a sandwich with me or go get some rest," Five grinned at her. "No one else makes them as good as you, anyways..."

"Hmph, fine..." the girl grumbled.

"Heh heh, thanks, Five." Klaus found it safe to now back out from his hiding space behind him.

"Yeah, you aren't off the hook, either." Five prodded his index finger to Klaus's chest before forcefully turning (Y/N) around by the shoulders and leading her downstairs. "C'mon, (N/N)."

"Sweet, Jesus. Those two..." Klaus chuckled, staring down the hall at his two siblings. It may have been too early to judge since they were basically best friends who were joined by the hip, but he always knew.

On Five and (Y/N)'s side, the boy was already helping to console poor (Y/N). In less than ten minutes, he was able to calm her down to the point where she was feeling okay enough to make him another one of his favourite fluffernutter sandwiches.

"You're not going to tell Dad about this, are you?" She had said to him, now knowing that it was just meant to be a joke ."Klaus is going to get thrown back into the mausoleum as a punishment, you know that, right?"
