EXTRA ORDINARY
"now, let's not get overzealous here,
you've always been a huge piece of shit"
2019
IT WAS PROBABLY TO NO surprise that the two made up for that little quarrel in no time. They were both close to the point that they couldn't stay mad at each other for too long without regretting it later on, ultimately deciding on forgiving and forgetting after Five had realised what he'd done that night. Howbeit, it didn't stop her from teasing him about Delores.
"I wasn't!" Five said, huffing out in annoyance.
"No, I'm not kidding. You didn't even hear me when I was waving my hand in front of your face and all you could look at was that stupid doll of yours while I was bleeding out right beside you," she kicked her legs up onto the dashboard of the passenger's seat and leaning back.
"You're exaggerating things," Five chuckled.
"Lance clocking in at ten," (Y/N) said, eyes locking onto the doctor from yesterday, now rushing into the building with a cup of take-away coffee in hand.
When he disappeared through the front doors of the building, (Y/N) noticed Five as he glanced over to the back of the van, realising that he'd forgotten to help Delores out of her bag. He had been having such a good time talking to (Y/N) again that he had lost track of the third person in the room.
"Oh, shit." He hurried to unzip the duffel bag and pulled her out of it. "Hey... sorry, you were in there for so long, Delores." Five said as he tucked her in the space between him and (Y/N), making her, yet again, feel like a third-wheel, but she didn't mind it as much as before, having now fully understood the position Five was in after being alone for 45 years.
(Y/N) watched him as he nodded his head slowly, as if Delores, herself, was speaking to him.
"No, I'm not drunk. I'm working," Five continued to talk to no one. "Yes, it's about the eye. This is where it's made... or will be made."
The girl, sat beside her best friend, laid further back in her seat. They were going to be there for a while.
"We just have to wait."

HOURS LATER, THE TWO WERE still seated in the same positions. (Y/N) had gotten out of the van to take a stretch a couple of times while they were in there, but Five never moved from his spot. He barely kept his eyes off the building after Lance had entered, convinced that he had something to do with the missing eyeball.
(Y/N) leaned against the passenger door of the van after rolling down the windows and getting out for some fresh air. She watched as a few children kicked around a soccer ball by the side of the street with not a care in the world.
Maybe it was better that way, unknowing of what might come in the future. Wielding the knowledge of their future was a burden to the mind, a constant reminder to get up and do something. However, to the Hargreeves siblings, it was responsibility. A job, they had never asked for, thrust upon them with a fast ticking clock at the back of their minds.
It was stressful, yet all they could do now was wait.
(Y/N) let out a sigh, turning her head to the side so she could speak to Five through the window. "So what's gonna happen once we find the owner of this eyeball?"
