Rain was still pouring down as he ran inside, getting welcomed by the air of chemicals, the air of first and last breaths. It was quiet, people reading useless magazines and drinking endless cups of bad coffee. A girl walked past, looking exhausted, life sucked out of her. Her family greeted her as she sat down next to them. Out of breath he looked around, shivering off the fear he felt. Where was Ash? Room 101 opened, her mom closed the door looking down. Deep frowns were set on her face as she approached him. He nodded in response, as she told him that she will be back in a minute. The door was ajar and the sharp light lit up her face. Pale and lifeless.

Attached to numerous of tubes, practically trapped in stabilizing machinery. Her angelic face was rested on a white thin pillow. He sat down and held her hand. "I wish I could show you...how much you mean to me. How you make me feel...I know we could be -" He was silenced by the door flying open. It was Daniel. D: "Zach? What the hell happened?" Z: "I-..don't know Daniel. I don't understand. she was fine, she was smiling, not a sign of sickness. On her journey home...she got sick." Daniel sat down on the other side, as he held her hand.

Why can't she be mine. You broke my heart, Ash. And it's deserved. My phone rang as I was pulled back to reality. It's Kay. Fuck...My heart was divided in two. I knew I was able to love Kay, but how can I stop loving her the way that I do now?  I looked at Daniel, as Kay concerningly asked me about Ash. I stood up and gave her a kiss on the forehead. Please be okay.

After Ash's mom called me, to tell me her daughter was in critical condition, I rushed to the hospital, 2 hours away.

Zach was kneeled by her side, he looked broken. The way he looked at her made me nauseous. He was nervously moving his hands. I knew he was thinking about more than he showed on the outside. I bonked against the door, making it clear I was there. He startled, as if I caught him in the middle of something. I didn't care about Zach right now, all I care about is her.

Zach stood up in a hurry, after his phone rang and without a word he rushed away. I felt the tension during his stay. Best friends in love with the same girl, it was...messy. I kissed her hands, as her mom and a unusually tall doctor entered the room.

"She's not in a stable condition. She'll have to stay...till it stabilizes. We're still researching the cause of her symptoms. I'm advising you guys to go home and relax."

Her mom looked tired, her mascara wiped out and her tears dried up.

"Daniel, I have to go on a business trip. It's been the best opportunity I've gotten so far. But I can't leave her like this. I-." she said. D: "I-. I can take care of her upcoming week before I leave for tour." I suggested. Her mom didn't look sure. A: "Mom, please..." Ash whispered. D: "ASH!" She sounded weak and she tried to pull herself up. "You need to rest honey." Her mom advised. A: "Please go...I'll be fine. I want you to go on that trip. It's your dream to do business in London. You have to go." Ash spoke slow and soft. M: "I can't leave you." A: "Please, mom. You can fly back anytime. Do it for me. I want you take this opportunity." M: "I-" A: "I'm fine!" She said, raising her voice. Her fierce tone silenced her mom, as she pouted her lips. M: "Promise you call me as much you can. I'll flying back the minute you feel bad" Ash nodded as she closed her eyes again, moaning in pain.

'well, I already feel bad, really bad' Ash thought, but her mom deserved this trip, it was an once in a lifetime opportunity.
