Ch 16 A Hunt

Y/N POV

I am walking down the streets of Vale when I see two males behind me. One is a faunus in white and the other is a older man in a suit with a mustache. I turn a corner and they follow me; figuring they want something I freeze time and drag them into a alley. I bind them together with some rope I found and resume time.

Mustache: "What happened?"

Y/N: "Why are you two following me?"

Faunus: "Now Hazel!"

I look to the side and a mountain of a man charges at me. I slow him down and slam my elbow on the back of his neck. He drops to the floor and he looks at me confused.

Hazel: "How did I slow down?"

Y/N: "I take it you are with them?"

???: "And me!"

I turn around and barely dodge a blade that would have cut my left eye. I unfold my cane and shoot fire magic at the newly appeared female. For some reason the attacks bounce off of her and this makes her smile. She unleashes a flurry of swipes and strikes and I try to dodge them all. Some connect slicing through my clothes and cutting skin. I slow her down and sparta kick her away; I notice the clock on her hip and see it is counting down. I test something and speed up the clock.

??? POV

The clock on my hip goes off and I go wide eyed. No, it couldn't have been sixty seconds already. My aura completely shatters leaving me vulnerable. I think he knows it because he smiles and fires shots from his cane. I cut through most of them but some hit and damage me. He fires two shots and both hit my knees bringing me to the ground.

Y/N POV

The woman falls on her back defeated. I relax my shoulders and fold up my cane; I freeze time and bound her with the two males. When she is secured I add that Hazel fella to the bound trio then resume time. I sit in front of them and look at them.

Y/N: "Now do any of you wish to explain why you after me?"

Female: "We ain't saying nothing!"

Y/N: *sighs* "I didn't want to have to do this, but you are being difficult."

I take out my cane and fire a hole into the girl's stomach. However before she can die I reverse time on her wound and heal her.

Y/N: "Keep being difficult and that will happen to all of you."

They go wide eyed except Hazel who just laughs. H e breaks the binds freeing everyone. They stand around me and all look smug.

Mustache: "Can to repeat that boy?"

I freeze time and place a tracker on the inside of Hazel's clothing. After that I grapple onto the roof and make time move.

Hazel POV

I blink and that man is gone.

Watts: "Where did he go?"

Tock: "He was just right her!"

Tyrian: "Coward!"

Hazel: "What now?"

Watts: "We search for him of course."

We all split up and try to track down the man we were hired to find and bring back. I try to find him in downtown Vale by asking Cinder and them if they've seen him. I arrive at our hideout and talk to Cinder.

Cinder: "Have you found him?"

Hazel: "Yes, but we lost him and I take it you haven't seen him?"

Cinder: "Not since the night of the dance."

I sigh and head back outside to continue my search. I practically turn downtown Vale upside down and still can't find him. He wears a out of style suit, you'd think he would stick out like a sore thumb. The sun starts to set so I decide to head back to the others. As I make my way to them I can't help but feel like I'm being watched. I reach the hideout and everyone looks mad.

Watts: "So no one found him?"

Tock: "Nope, not even me; your best tracker."

Tyrian: "He wasn't in the southern part of Vale."

Hazel: "Or downtown."

Tock: "Or northern."

Watts: "It's like he just disappeared into thin air."

Hazel: "What do we do now?"

Watts: "We shall return to the queen and tell her of our progress so far."

We all nod and get inside a bullhead that heads off to Salem's castle.

Y/N POV

I perch from the top of Beacon tower watching the tracker move and eventually leave Vale. I put my scroll in my pocket and speed myself up to follow the tracker. I follow it to a place where the sky is red and there are black pools scattered around everywhere. I walk forward until I spot a bullhead in front of a castle. I pull out my scroll and see the tracker is in inside the castle. I put my scroll away and head inside. I walk down the corridors until I hear two voices coming towards me. I wait for them and see they are the man with the mustache and the faunus. They spot me and get in a fighting stance.
