Ch 8 History And The Forest

Y/N POV

I walk to the rabbit faunus who is in tears and clutching her ears. I match her level and speak in a calming voice.

Y/N: "Are you alright miss?"

Velvet: "Velvet and no my ears hurt."

I look at where her ears were pulled and lightly rub them.

Y/N: "Does it feel better when I do this?"

Velvet: "Y-yes."

I switch ears and she starts to purr; I let go of her ears and they twitch slightly.

Velvet: "Thank you mister?"

Y/N: "Call me Y/N."

Velvet: "Thank you Y/N."

She leaves and I head back to my table where I see everyone looking at me.

Y/N: "What?"

Ruby: "That was really kind what you did."

Weiss: "You did good putting that dolt in his place."

Blake: "And saving that faunus."

Y/N: "It's not a issue I won't stand by and let someone be bullied when I know there is something I can do about it."

I see Blake's bow twitch slightly and I realize there is something under there. However I will choose to remain silent until she is ready to say something about it. We head to our next class which is being taught be a coffee addict who moves at a ludacris speed. I watch him zoom around the class spouting off something about a faunus and human war. Since I got to see every major event in history I technically know more than the teacher and already I count at least four major inaccuracies with how history played out.

Oobleck: "Who can tell me the advantage the faunus had over general Lagoon's forces?"

Jaune: *gets flicked by a piece of paper* "Hey."

Oobleck: "Mr. Arc, finally contributing to class. This is excellent, excellent what is the answer?"

Jaune: "The advantage...is...binoculars!"

Everyone laughs at his answer with Cardin being the loudest.

Oobleck: "Very funny Mr. Arc. Cardin, perhaps you would care to share your thoughts on the subject?"

Cardin: "Well I know it's a lot easier to train a animal than a soldier."

I freeze time and slam his head on his desk hard enough to leave a mark and lightly crack the desk. I resume time and he bellows in pain with blood starting to come for his forehead. Pyrrha gives the correct answer and Blake throws a dig at him that even I laugh at.

The next day we are walking through the forest of forever fall and separate to each gather a jar of red sap. I watch as Jaune is dragged off by Cardin and I decide to discreetly follow them. I collect my sap and take a seat in a tree overlooking the bird brained team. Jaune comes back with six jars of red sap and then they take him to a cliff that looks over the rest of the students. Cardin hands Jaune a jar and he looks like he going to throw it at one of the students.

Y/N: "Come on Jaune, do the right thing. Don't let him win."

Jaune turns around and tosses the sap on Cardin and he is drenched in it. He doesn't like that and goes to punch Jaune when a Ursa Major appears and throws Cardin around. I get off the tree and run to help Jaune; I see Pyrrha show up and aim her hand at Jaune's shield. I realize she is going to use her semblance but see it isn't going to reach him in time. I speed up her semblance and Jaune's shield just barely protects him and allows him to kill the Ursa Major. Pyrrha looks at me and mouths "thank you" I nod and see Jaune stand up to his bully.

When we get back to Beacon I follow Jaune to the rooftop where he meets Pyrrha. They chat and she ends up training him. I turn around and head to my dorm when I hear a familiar voice.

???: "Y/N."

Y/N: *turns around* "Mother?"

I look around and see I am the only one in the area. I swear I heard my mother's voice. I think it's getting close to the time for me to search for her again.
