Ch 6 2V1 And Teams

Y/N POV

I stand before the Nevermore and Deathstalker; the Nevermore pulls back its wings and flings feathers at me. I speed myself up and dodge all of the feathers. The Deathstalker charges at me and reels back its left pincher and swings it at me. I grab it and sling the whole Deathstalker over my shoulder and break off its pincher. It screeches and struggles to get off of its back. I run at the Nevermore while unfolding my cane and firing ice magic from it. I freeze the bird's left wing then fire a explosive shot at it and the wing breaks apart.

The Nevermore squawks in ear piercing agony and tries to swipe its remaining wing at me. I dodge the feathers the best I can but some of them hit me and cut through my clothes. Being left open the Deathstalker finally gets on its legs and swings its remaining pincher at me and I go flying into a tree.

Ruby POV

I watch as Y/N gets hit by the Nevermore's feathers then swatted away by the Deathstalker. The moment he collides with a tree everyone groans and Y/N falls to the ground but doesn't get up right away.

Ruby: "Ozpin, you have to send someone to help him or he'll die!"

Ozpin: "I'm sorry miss Rose but as I stated before the instructors are to not intervene."

I get ready to go off on him when I feel a hand on my shoulder. I look and see it is Yang, she nods to me and I look back at the screen.

Y/N POV

I try to get to my feet but feel pain in my lower back. I feel it with my right hand and discover my spine has been broken. I use my semblance to heal myself then stand on my feet. The Deathstalker rushes towards me while raising its stinger. It slams the stinger at me but I catch it and twirl the Deathstalker around; I snap the Deathstalker forward and the whole tail snaps off. I hold its tail in my hand and break off the stinger. The Nevermore throws more feathers at me and I freeze time; I turn one of the feathers around so it's pointing towards the Nevermore then resume time. The feather I turned around continues with its momentum and is sent straight into the Nevermore's mouth and pierces its brain. The Nevermore turns to ash and I run at the Deathstalker.

I lift the stinger above me and slam it into the Deathstalker's head. I then speed myself up and run up a tree and launch myself outwards towards the Deathstalker. I speed myself up even more and elbow drop onto the stinger and drive it further into the Deathstalker's head killing it. I let out a loud sigh and deactivate my semblance; I fold up my cane and begin walking back to the cliffs to meet up with everyone else. I look at April's stuffed animal and see it has a tear in it.

Ozpin POV

I watch as Y/N finishes his fight and something seems familiar about the way he fights. Now that I think about it he is starting to look like I've seen him somewhere before. He then stops and pulls out a stuffed animal and that too looks familiar but I can't quite remember where I saw it.

Y/N POV

I make it back to the cliffs and see everyone looking at me with wide eyes and mouths agape. I am confronted by the eight from earlier and Lupus jumps from Weiss' arms and into mine. He licks the side of my face then clings to my back.

Yang: "You handled yourself pretty well out there."

Y/N: "Thanks I had a long time to train."

Ruby: *starts poking me* "Does it hurt when I do this?"

Y/N: "Ruby relax, I'm fine there's no need to worry."

She pouts and goes off on a rant about how it's important to take care of my wounds. We are escorted into the room we first gathered in and teams are assigned. Ruby, Weiss, Blake and Yang get put on a team with Ruby being named the leader. When the last team is formed I am called to the stage.

Ozpin: "Y/N, you have collected the white bishop piece but you were not able to find a partner. Under normal circumstances you would be asked to leave, but having seen your skill in combat I have decided to bend the rules and allow you to stay. As for a team I will let you choose which one."

Y/N: "Then I choose to be part of team RWBY."

Later that night I walk to the dorm I will be sharing. I knock on the door and Ruby answers it. She lets me in and I stand in front of everyone.

Weiss: "Ruby where is he supposed to sleep?"

The others look at Weiss then at me. I spot a couch and walk over to it and set down my bag. I pull out some clothes and head into the bathroom to change. I put on my shorts and spot the scar my father gave me. Even though it has been centuries I still remember that day as if it was only yesterday. I put on a shirt and head outside and sit down on the couch and pull out my sewing kit. I set up a needle and thread and begin to stitch up the tear April's stuffed animal had gotten earlier.

Weiss: "That's not yours is it?"

Y/N: *finishes* "No, it belonged to my youngest sister who isn't with us anymore nor is my other sisters."

I feel a tear come out remembering what happened so long ago. The tear drops onto the stuffed animal but I wipe it off.

Ruby: "What happened?"

Y/N: "I don't exactly know, I just came home and found it in ruins. I couldn't find their bodies, the only thing I found was her stuffed animal that I had given her when she was born."

Yang: "And you hang onto it as a reminder?"

Y/N: "Yeah. It also serves as a good luck charm and brings me comfort when times are tough."

Blake: "That's really sweet."

Y/N: "Thank you. We should get to bed."

I lay on my side facing away from them and I hear my bag rustle then feel a weight jump on me. I look down and see Lupus curling up into a ball at my feet and go to sleep. I smile at his adorableness and soon join him in slumber.
