DESTINY'S PLAY

SO CALLED FAMILY

 After waking up RK came out of his room yawning and scratching his back of the head to cook breakfast but stopped seeing the light smoke or fog in the house. It smelled like sambrani making him walk towards the pooja room only to get shocked.

  Meghana was in a half saree with a little jewellery and jasmine flowers in her hair doing pooja. She prayed and came out to see her dad still in shock and said "Naanna(dad) go get ready I already prepared breakfast, have it and don't wait for me I'll be going to the office at nine. I'm leaving for temple bye" going out.

RK turned to god and asked "Eeshwara what did you plan to cook in her life now? She changed in a single night" and went to get ready for his job.

Abhi was driving to the orphanage when he saw a familiar figure walking and stopped the car infront of her and got out asking "Ma where are you going?" but soon knew when he saw the pooja basket in her hand and offered her lift.

Abhi stopped the car infront of Sangi temple and Devyani forced Abhi to come with her. Devyani is a mother figure in his life since he was a child and their family runs the orphanage he grew up in.

Her husband Mohan is a father figure who is the orphanage's manager. They lived with the other kids in the orphanage along with their only son Varun who is working for him.

When Abhi asked them to live with him they politely refused and just sent Varun to be in his every mile stone of his creer as his support.

"Abhi come na please would you have refused if I was your mother?" Devayani asked pouting.

'Not that line again' Abhi thought and groaned that he'd park the car as Devayani exited the car with a grin. He parked the car and mounted the stairs of the temple.

Meghana gave her basket to poojari garu along with Yani(Devayani) and started doing pradakshina. Abhi saw his mom doing rounds and joined her. Meghana was in front of him so he couldn't miss seeing her but only saw her back  thinking  'There is a girl this traditional nowadays also'.

Soon the pradakshina was over and Meghana went to garbha gudi (main temple) and prayed to lord shiva. Poojari garu came out and gave her the pooja basket saying "Talli...today is Monday go and light the diya's there, your wishes will come true" pointed out to the front where diya stands were placed.

Abhi and Yani just crossed her but he couldn't see her face and Yani prayed to god while he stood there idly. Curiosity got to him and for the last time he turned around hoping to see the girl's face and saw her behind the stand lighting diyas from downwards.

He saw her waist first then her torso then neck where the necklace sat exactly in the middle of her chest and then her cute small lips and the blinking eyes just like butterflies flapping it's wings and then her whole face as she stood completely straight on her feet with a smile lighting the last Diya.

He inhaled sharply and Yani turned back to Abhi and saw him looking somewhere and followed his gaze to see a girl in a half saree and smiled turning to god and prayed once again "You are faster than swiggy delivery. You made my wish come true this fast" and turned to see the girl who's gone.

Abhi was looking at Yani and asked "What is that wish that came true faster than any delivery?" making her nervously smile and fidgeted her hands.

"Umm.... nothing and you shouldn't ask they won't come true" she said and took the basket from poojari garu before walking out of the temple making Abhi roll his eyes.
