DESTINY'S PLAY

PRESENT

          Megha was sitting on her knees in front of Devayani and Mohan who continued "She went to Banglore that's the last we saw her. When Abhi went to meet her on monday they said she resigned her job and vacated the hostel. He tried so much to find her but it was no use and a month later we saw her in the magazine married to some other guy. It was the last he spoke of her and we knew he was heart broken" with tears in his eyes.

           "We didn't know what happened but Abhi changed a lot avoiding new people in his life and turned a workaholic" Devayani said wiping her tears continuing "I thought he wouldn't allow any other girl in his life but when I saw him look at you that day in the temple I saw the same spark in his eyes which died when Maha broke his heart that's when I started hoping you'd come into his life"

           After the chat with her in laws Megha started going upstairs thinking of the past encounters with her boss and stopped seeing the light in the home office. She opened the door slightly to see him still working and smiled lightly.

          As if sensing her gaze Abhi lifted his head and tilted his chin "What?".

          Megha changed her expression into a blank one " I can't wait till  midnight for you to eat come and eat so I can also eat and sleep"

          "Who told you to wait?" Abhi asked sarcastically to which she gritted her teeth and said "Well I'm a devil in disguise so I should maintain a decent wife image don't you think?" as he closed his laptop.

          He growled and and got up walking towards the dining area with Megha following him smiling at him and served him dinner.

           
Megha was arranging the dishes when Maha came to dining area and stopped not knowing how to start the conversation. Megha saw Maha and smiled "Would you please call everyone it's already eight?"

             Maha nodded smiling and went to call everyone. She stopped at Abhi's room and knocked to which he replied "Come in" wearing his jacket.

              "Breakfast" Maha said softly which made Abhi stop his work and shudder before turning towards her.

              "Abhi I-" before Maha could say anything Abhi took his file and walked out towards the dining area leaving her sad and she followed him.

              All were sitting for breakfast when both of them came down and Megha was serving the food in plates. She saw Abhi and started serving idly when Maha said "He doesn't like idli" which made others turn their heads towards her and Megha started retreating her hand but Abhi caught it making her look at him.

              "It was long ago everybody changes with time" Abhi nodded at Megha who served him idli

              "How do you know he doesn't like idli Maha?" Ramesh asked. Maha was struggling to answer and Abhi was about to say something but Megha beat him to it saying "I was talking to the maid when she heard it".

              "If you already know that he doesn't like idli why did you serve him?" Ramesh asked suspiciously.

             "Like my husband said everybody changes with time" Megha defended. After that breakfast was uneventful and soon Aditya, Varun and Abhi went to work leaving others at home.
