WIFELY DUTIES

Abhi was still sleeping on the couch when he smelled something and started coughing loudly. He opened his groggy eyes and saw his room filled with smoke and got up from the couch checking around before going out.

"Ma..Ma.." he shouted coming down only to stop in his tracks. He saw Megha in a saree praying to god in the pooja room and realised that she was the one who lit the Samrani.

"Abhi you still didn't get ready it's already eight" Varun said making Megha turn around and followed Abhi's gaze.

Good thing Yani had an extra pair of saree which she gave to Megha. Megha came towards them and showed the aarati plate. Varun took the blessings and Abhi was about to but she moved the plate aside making him narrow his eyes.

Varun rolled his eyes and said "First shower and get ready" leaving towards the dining area. Megha took aarati with her right palm and touched Abhi's closed eyes and forehead before moving to the pooja room again.

Everyone sat at the dining table as Megha served breakfast along with Devayani. But Megha made her sit and served her plate too then she sat down beside Abhi who was having breakfast.

"So, Megha aren't you going to work?" Mohan asked. To which Abbi replied "No" making everyone look at him.

"Umm....what he meant to say is I'm going to receive our company's new clients since they are going to stay here" Megha said.

"Who are they that you have easily invited to our home? Must be lucky" Devayani joked making Megha clear her throat and hide her smile.

"Yani.... don't tease him who are they?" Mohan asked.

"NISSANKARA'S FAMILY" Abhi said making everyone look at him.

Megha, Devayani and Mohan were standing waiting for the guests and two cars parked in front of the house. From the first door four members got down. An older couple and an old man along with his son.

"Hello Mr and Mrs. Nissankara" Mohan said and everyone joined their hands in greeting "My wife Devayani and that's.."

"Megha...." Kalyani Nissankara exclaimed with a big grin and hugged Megha to everyone's shock.

"Hello! Aunty how are you?" Megha said pulling back taking blessings from her.

"I'm good. Is this your house?" Kalyani asked excitedly.

"It is..." Abhi said coming from inside the house and stood beside his wife.

"She's your wife, may god bless you both" Kalyani said putting her hand on Abhi's head and both of them looked at each other with strange expressions.

"Kalyani you know her?" Ramachandra Nissankara asked his wife.

"Ha! We met in Devipuram. She helped me when I was about to fall down from the steps" Kalyani said with gratitude in her voice.

"Ho! You are the temple girl that she is eating my ears with since yesterday" RC (Ramachandra) said.

"It's just a good timing uncle" Megha said politely.

"But still you saved my mom we'll always be grateful for that" Aditya said standing on the other side of his mom.

"Right! Let me introduce my son Aditya and his wife...Maha Lakshmi" Kalyani said and Maha came out of the car and stood beside her husband making Mohan's and Devayani's eyes widen.

The guests were shown to their respective rooms after lunch. There was tension between Mohan, Devayani and Varun who knew about Abhi's past with Maha. Abhi was chill from the outside but looks can be deceiving.

          Megha knocked on Mohan's door before entering. Mohan and Devayani sat on the bed thinking about something seriously and didn't notice Megha at the door.

          Megha cleared her throat gaining their attention "Megha come sit" Mohan said patting the space beside them.

          "Who's Maha uncle? What's the relationship between your son and her?" Megha came to the point making the couple look at her a bit shockingly as she continued "I'm not asking this to rub on anyone's face. I'm his wife now, I do have a right to know about him to understand why he's like this please... tell me".
