DESTINY'S PLAY

KNOWING HIS PAST

FEW YEARS EARLIER.......

          Abhi and Varun stopped the car at the temple parking lot and got out locking it. They washed their feet before going inside. The temple was crowded since it is mukkoti ekadashi the festival of shiva. They were looking around for their ma and decided to go individually in search of her.

           Abhi after searching half of the crowded temple reached the small pond at the back of temple and saw his ma standing on the steps praying and started walking towards her but stopped mid stride looking at someone who leaned forward leaving diya in the pond.

           His breath hitched looking at the girl who was in a red saree with loose hair and jewellery looking like godess Laxmi devi holding a lotus in her hand. It's the first time he had this feeling looking at some girl.

           Damn if he'd leave this feeling. Devayani turned around and came to Abhi and snapped him out of his trance "You should've called me. Anyhow you came inside let's pray to god come on" and Abhi shifted his gaze to where the girl was but didn't find her and looked around before his ma dragged him towards the garbha gudi.

           He joined his hands to pray but his thoughts were with his red saree girl who managed to make him feel a flutter in his heart.

The next day Abhi was in his small office working for his new project when he got a call from the hospital. When he heard the person on the other side he immediately rushed to the hospital where his ma and Varun were sitting in the waiting room.

         "Ma...what happened?" Abhi asked sitting on the other side of Devayani. She leaned onto him while he caught her hand consoling her.

         "We're walking from the mall and Mohan got left hand pain then suddenly fell down. One girl helped us getting him here" Devayani said crying.

          The ICU doors opened and the lady doctor came out removing her mask. The trio stood and Abhi was shocked to see his Lucky(laxmi devi) here.

           "Aunty you don't need to worry it was just a mild stroke uncle is absolutely fine and we're discharging him tomorrow evening" his Lucky said making the trio sigh in relief.

           "Thank you so much if you weren't there we couldn't even imagine what would have happened" Devayani said joining her palms.

           "Aunty please you are older than me all I need is your blessing" Lucky said smiling.

           "May God bless you dear...." Devayani trailed not knowing the doctor's name.

           "Maha..Maha Lakshmi" Lucky introduced and Devayani blessed her "May you find a good husband who takes care of you and love you a lot Maha Lakshmi" and went to see her husband.

The next day Mohan was discharged from the hospital and allotted to bed rest for a month. Abhi didn't miss any chance in seeing his Lucky charm.

        In the evening Lucky came out to the bus stop after her shift and a car parked in front of her. The window glass rolled down revealing Abhi in casuals.

        "Hello! Lu..Doctor" Abhi corrected himself making her give a curt nod and a small smile as he continued "Are you going home? Let me drop you"

        "No thanks..I'll go by bus" she politely refused but she knew he was trying to get her attention since she saw him in the hospital and deep down she secretly liked it but wanted to be hard on him.

        "It's already nine and it seems like it's going to rain. I don't want you to get sick. Please" Abhi requested cutely to which she looked at her watch and sighed getting into the passenger seat.
