hi, here is a disclaimer... I changed Newts eyes to blue. They were blue in the book. Thank you for listening to my Ted talk

The ground shook beneath my body, causing myself to slip into consciousness; though my eyes didn't open. It wasn't that they couldn't; they could if I wanted them too. It felt they were glued shut with the fear that I was experiencing. Terrified that if I did open them, I'd see something I didn't like.

A loud clang rang out and the floor shook harder than it was earlier; ultimately causing my eyes to snap open, though it was against my better judgement.

It was dark.

That was all I could tell from my initial glance around the environment I found myself in. It had four walls, so at least I knew I was in some type of room. However, it was moving and made of grated metal.

It was unusually cold however sweat dripped from the top of my hair line and down past my ears. My breathing began ragged, as I sat up; inspecting the 'room' I was in.

As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, I discovered that there was a dull red light above me. Red. That can't be good. I began to make my way to my feet however, that was a bad idea because just as I was standing, the room or box - I figured, hit the side of the wall, causing the box to rock. That rapid movement threw me to the ground; landing on my stomach, I let out a groan and flipped over onto my back and tried to slow my breathing. I had only just realised that I was going up.

No need to panic. Just breathe, uhm. What's my name? WAIT. What's my name!

Suddenly the box comes to a halt and the dull red light, turns to a bright green, bringing my attention off of the fact I don't know my name. "Is that a good, or a bad thing?" I breathe as I look up at it.

Out of nowhere, the roof of whatever I was trapped in, opened; causing a bright white light to spill into the room. I cover my eyes, quickly standing up and running into the corner of the room where there was a little shade.

As I looked up, I could see a few figures above, looking down at me.

Oh, it's time to panic.

I didn't know who they were, where I was, why I was in a box and why they are looking at me. As I was staring, well, squinting at them, I noticed there was about 10 people, all with short hair and ragged clothes.

Boys?

My attention was quickly drawn inside my little room as one dropped down into it. The boy made his way quickly toward me in a menacing way. He had dark brown skin and his head was shaved. He looked older than me, around 17. How old was I? I backed up into the corner as far as I could.

What is he going to do to me?

"Welcome to The Glade." His voice was deep but kind, though that didn't mean I trusted him, so I kept my mouth shut. "Throw us down a rope! It's a girl!" He looked up as he yelled to the people above us. I looked over to the corner from where this mysterious boy had jumped from, to see a makeshift rope made out of vines and leaves.

I looked at the 'rope' unconvinced that it would hold both of us. He must of saw the look on my face because what he said next was out of the blue. "It's stable. Come on." He reached out and grabbed my wrist, which I then wrenched from his grip.
