Lucy was sitting in front of the Lamborghini for about twenty minutes before getting bored. It was dead silent in the garage. She got bored and sat down inside.
- Well, it's just you and me Nelly...Yeah, Nelly, that's nice. Okay, let's see what you really are, Nelly.
Lucy opened the hood and saw nothing.
- Of course, a mid-engine, I'm stupid. - Lucy chuckled and opened the back.
As she was investigating the engine she started feeling a bit closer to Nelly. After the engine inspection, Lucy found some tools in the garage and rose the car by a few inches. She laid down on the floor and shuffled under the car. She didn't even notice when Marshall walked into the garage.
- Having fun?
- Oh god, you scared me. Umm, yeah, how much time do I have?
- It's been two hours already.
- Already?
- Yeah, you can stay here if you want or you can go home.
- Well if you call "home" a garage then I can go...I'll stay.
- Wait, what do you mean? You don't have a place to live?
- I live in my garage because I didn't have money to keep an apartment, but whatever.
- ...Fine, if you want to can stay here for as long as you want, there's a bedroom upstairs on the right.
- No, you don't have to, it's fine.
- I beg the differ. You can go pick up your stuff back at your garage, but come back, you need a real place to sleep.
Lucy thanked Marshall and picked up some stuff from her garage. Marshall's house had a lot of pictures hung up, it was very minimalistic with open spaces.
- Alright, now go to sleep. No snooping in the house and no snooping around the garage.
- Understood.
Lucy was walking to her room, looking at all the pictures on the walls. The same girl kept repeating in every other picture. Lucy took a shower and went to sleep.
Marshall was awake at five am, he was preparing the Lamborghini for it to go back on track.
- Morning. - Lucy walked outside barely awake.
- Morning, ready to go?
- Just a second, - Lucy saw Marshalls every-day car, - you have three covered cars in the garage but you drive a Golf GTI?
- Yeah, it's a great car. Anyway, get it the Lambo, we need to go.
Lucy jumped in the Lambo and drove to the track. She met the rest of the driving team and got prepared for a proper race.
- We race a couple of weeks, so let's practice for real. Two hours on the clock, Lucy is starting, we'll tell you when to switch out. Also, some of our senior racers will be driving to simulate the other racers.
- Wait, they're like grandpas. - Lucy chuckled.
- Well then it shouldn't be a challenge, huh? - Marshall closed the door and told everyone to start practice.
Within the first laps, Marshall noticed how much more Lucy was trusting the car. The first fifteen minutes were going alright, even though Lucy was driving in fifth, out of seven people. Lucy was turning into the pit stop for fuel.
- Okay, let's go, she's pitting, - Marshall pulled out his stopwatch, - eight seconds, good job guys.
Marshall was trying to make the crew work faster in the pits for higher efficiency. After twenty more minutes rain was heading towards the track.
- Lucy, pit, and exit the car. - Marshall spoke through the radio.
Lucy drove up with Nelly, jumped out, and let Carson get in. The crew put on new wheels and filled the car with fuel.
- Nine seconds, that's really nice guys. - Marshall patted Connor on the back.
Keith, the best driver in the crew, finished the race first, but Marshall knew that Keith could do that.
- Nice work on again, Keith. - Marshall welcomed him out.
- Thanks, see you on Friday, Scotty.
- Yup, bye.
Marshall waited for Lucy to change and took her back home.
- I've been looking at the pictures on your walls. - Lucy said while eating dinner.
- And?
