- Hey, Marshall, I won't be able to make it next Saturday. - Lucy said.
- Why not?
- I'm going to a festival or something. I'll be back Sunday.
- Alright, but I want to see progress this month.
- Yeah yeah, absolutely. - Lucy was excited that Marshall let her go.
Scotty called Carson into his office for a chat:
- Take a seat, Carson.
- I have a feeling I know where this is going.
- So, yeah, okay. I'm gonna go straight to the point: I've reviewed your performance and I made the decision that you're just not what we are looking for.
- What exactly does that mean?
- You're off the team Carson. You're a great driver, you're just not what we're looking for.
- Yeah, you're not looking for great drivers...Whatever, okay.
Carson left the office to pack his stuff and leave. While Carson was getting ready to leave, Zane knocked on the office door.
- Yo, Carson's out? - Zane asked.
- Yeah, it was a mutual decision.
- ...I'm leaving too. Not because Carson is leaving, but I'm just tired of this life. Tired of racing in general.
- Umm, okay, - Marshall was going through mixed emotions, - you're free to do so.
Marshall could redo the whole budget with two drivers gone. the whole day had a depressing mood, as two racers packed their stuff and set off home.
Lucy and Keith were getting more time to train on the track. They started getting closer and Lucy felt more comfortable in the crew and the car.
- I know I shouldn't say this, but I'm happy Zane and Carson left. - Keith was eating lunch with Lucy.
- It feels good. Our team is very unique now, except for the whole being middle-aged white dudes.
- That doesn't matter. That crew has a woman and a black guy for drivers, I'm really happy with this team. - Keith was excited about the future.
- Done eating? Let's go back on track. - Lucy stood up.
- Yup.
After a week Lucy got ready to meet Elliot. He said he would pick her up and he did. Elliot showed up in his orange McLaren P1.
- This is a dope car. - Lucy sat down in the passenger seat.
- I like it too. Ready to go?
- Always am.
