Stevie's POV
~
I haven't gotten out of bed for anything besides the bathroom yet. Lindsey and I had plans last night, which eventually led us to his place. It's weird, saying, his place, when we'd lived here together. He's out grocery shopping right now. I made him go, because his fridge is basically empty. Not that long ago, he would have whined and I would have been the one going instead.
About half an hour later, I hear Lindsey unlocking the door and I pull up the covers over my chest. Unsure really, why I'm being so modest.
"We're having pasta tonight!" Lindsey informs me as soon as he steps through the door.
"What makes you so sure, I'm staying for dinner?" I ask and he teleports to the bedroom, before I can finish my sentence.
"You're not?" Lindsey gives me his best puppy eyes and crawls into bed on all fours. "I think, I might be able to convince you." He says, hovering above me. Lindsey lowers his head and kisses me gently. Our lips separate, he presses his forehead to mine, giving me an eskimo kiss.
"I love you." It just slips out. I'm sure that we both feel it, but we've been avoiding, saying those words out loud. Lindsey stills and stares at me. Well, it's out and I can't take it back. "I said, I love you."
Slowly, a smile forms on his lips and he lies down beside me on his side. "Am I allowed to say it back?"
"You better." I give him a look, making him laugh.
"I love you so much." He says and I swear, I get goosebumps.
We just lie together for some time, our hands clasped. My eyelids start to feel heavy and I close my eyes for a moment, but they shoot open seconds later at Lindsey's next words.
"I want you to move back in here."
Suddenly, I'm very alert. The way things have been going lately, I was sure, we'd approach this question sooner or later, however, I had no idea, how I was going to react. I thought, it would scare me away, but... it doesn't. Not at all.
"When?" Now I surprise Lindsey, asking that.
He grins and shrugs his shoulders. "How about right now?"
I chuckle, shaking my head. "I can't, I've got my stuff to pack first."
"Steph, are we just joking around here or..." Lindsey trails off, I see the hope in his eyes and I'm not about to crush it.
"I'm serious." I move closer to him and he wraps me in his arms. "I mean, I'm not even sure if we're a couple again or... I know for a fact that you haven't asked." I smirk, looking up at him and Lindsey rolls his eyes, then pecks me on the lips. "I'm done playing these games."
"Are you indicating that I should ask you to be my girlfriend again?" I smile, nodding my head. "What day is it today?"
I frown, that wasn't the question I was expecting. "Why?"
"I just want to be sure it's not April Fools' day." I smack his arm, ready to pull away, but Lindsey only holds me tighter. "I'm kidding." He gives me a couple quick kisses. "I'd want nothing more than for you to be my girlfriend again, Stephanie."
"I'll get back to you on that." Now I'm the one making jokes as I try break away from his hold.
"You get back here." Lindsey pulls me back and in one swift motion, I'm lying under him in a fit of giggles. "I think we should forgo dinner and go get your things."
"Dinner and my things can wait..." I trail off, giving him an innocent look, which is anything but...
