Harry's POV

There was something about Daisy that intrigued me. I'd never met a girl so confident and fiery. She reminds me of a female version of myself, although she probably doesn't do half the bad stuff I do. I can't quite figure her out, what it was that made her like this, what she went through. I don't like not knowing things, not being able to understand things. She's a free bird, with no intention in being captured or controlled, I don't like that either. Everyone around me, in the club and in life, were easily controlled by me. I was in full control of my life and those in it. Apart from her. She wouldn't let me control her, even if her life depended on it.

"Knock, knock." Joe says as he opens the door to my office, with a glass of whiskey for me, perfect timing. I wave him in to come take a seat.  "So, what did Daisy want?" He asks, placing the whiskey in front of me and sitting down, resting his foot on his knee.

"She asked for a promotion." I raise my brows as I take a sip.

"Boss!" Joe moans, throwing his head back. "I hired her to improve the image of the club! Don't corrupt her!"

"She asked for it, I'm not gonna turn down that opportunity. She did really well with Jeffrey and his idiots, they're the only reason they're sticking with us." I explained, it's good for the business. I couldn't turn her away.

"It's not safe for her. Please don't make me fire her." Joe says, hitting his knee in annoyance.

"Actually, you can't." I say quietly, taking another sip.

"Explain." Joe leans forward, narrowing his eyes awaiting my explanation.

"Jeffrey told me, just before he left, Daisy saw us in the office. He told me I need to keep an eye on her because if she tells anyone anything, they'll go after her. She's trouble, that one." Joe face palms as I tell him. I saw Daisy through the door when she was looking through the other night, I hadn't realised Jeffrey had seen her. That's why I went round hers, to check that they hadn't followed her home. I didn't want to have to cover up her disappearance if they did something to her, it wouldn't look good on the club.

I didn't tell Daisy that I saw her, I thought if I did she would just bombard me with a million questions. This way it'll be fun to watch her try to subtly ask about what she saw.

"Shit." Joe mutters under his breath, getting up and pacing around the room. "Are you gonna explain why you've got a black eye and busted lip?"

"Just some dickheads, no worries." I lie. Jeffrey had sent two of his goons to the club tonight to watch Daisy, and they'd come every night to do the same. I don't need to be bloody babysat, so I showed them that.

"I care for this girl, Harry. She's a good one." Joe says in a worry, running his hands through his hair. He was never good with this side of the business.

"I know you do. She'll be fine. She can handle herself anyway, she's pretty feisty." I chuckle.

"Ha, well she definitely puts you in your place, that's for sure." I wanted to get to know her better, see how far she'll go to defy me. She was addicting. I can definitely have a bit of fun with that.

She seems so strong, apart from when I get close to her. Her confidence shrinks instantly and she shys away. I love being able to make her hold her breath, I could feel her heartbeat faster as I held her close to me, her whole body tensed. Touching her soft skin, making her blush completely. It was fun seeing her squirm a little.

"Does James know about her?" Joe mutters, seeming afraid to ask.

"No. He doesn't need to. It's best for her that way. That bastard can stay in the dark time to time, he doesn't need to know everything." I feel anger boil up in me just mentioning his name.
