You might kill me with desire
Wind me tighter than a wire
It's something that you do to me
I run away like mercurySunday nights can either be deathly quiet in a club, or it'll feel like a Saturday night. Ivy always had people in, no matter what night of the week. The type of people who came in either owned their own business so they could easily go to work hungover, or they didn't even need to work at all. As I walked into Stealth for my shift, I began to realise it was a different type of crowd here. They just didn't care about going into work hungover. I do my usual routine of going to see Joe at the bar and pouring out my shots before making my way around the booths.
As I walk round, I notice Harry's booth is empty tonight. Not even any 'bodyguards' hanging around it. Maybe I'll have an easier shift tonight without feeling like I'm being watched 24/7, every move I make being criticised. I learnt from my mistake from last night and offered shots and left straight away, not entertaining anyone's flirty comments.
"Where's Harry tonight?" I shout over the bar to Joe as he starts filling up my tray again.
"Oh, ummm...he's out of town for a couple days. Business stuff." Joe says, as if he just made it up on the spot. What type of business stuff does Harry have to do that means going out of town, he just owns a nightclub. I brush off my suspicion, it's not my place to wonder. I'm just glad I don't have to deal with him for a couple shifts.
My shift was a lot easier, it then ended up being a lot easier for the rest of the week. Harry stayed out of town for the whole week, I didn't bother asking any more questions around it. After working 6 nights in a row, I finally had Thursday and Friday off.Thursday I ended up sleeping most of the day, going to the roof for a joint before going straight back to sleep, trying to catch up and get back into a normal sleeping routine for a night.
"Are we going out tonight? It is Friday after all!" Katie says as we sit on my rooftop. Every Friday night that I have off, Katie and I would always go out, however usually we would go Ivy, and that wasn't an option anymore.
"Well we either find a new bar, or we go to Stealth, and I kind of think we'd stick out like a sore thumb there." I say, bringing the joint to my lips as I stare at the sky like of Brooklyn as the sun begins to set.
"We have to go to Stealth! It doesn't look as bad as I thought! Ivy was kind of boring at times, to be honest!" Katie says, jumping up from the bench. I roll my eyes at her excitement to go. Harry was probably still out of town so maybe it wouldn't be as bad, and I'm sure Joe would give us some free drinks, which is always worth it.
"Fine! I'll be honest it does look like good fun when I'm on shift, be nice to actually join in on the fun for once." I give in, she doesn't hesitate before pulling me up to go get ready. I quickly take one last toke of the joint before putting it out on the ground and following her back to my apartment.

We get to the club and it's already rammed. The familiar humidity from the amount of bodies in the room hits us as we walk over to the bar. "Joe!" I shout over the bar across to him to get his attention. He does a double take as he realises it's me calling his name.
"Daisy! Didn't think this was your scene! Has working here converted you?" He shouts over the music, leaning over the bar.
"It just might have." I laugh, "This is my best friend Katie." I gesture towards her, and notice she's just staring at Joe. She's probably admiring his biceps that he's got on show under his black tank top, all covered in tattoos. I wonder if Harry has as many tattoos, I haven't actually seen him in proper light yet or out of his black blazer. I did notice a couple tattoos on his hand as he pulled me away from that booth the other night, decorated with almost a ring on every finger. I nudge Katie's arm as I realise she still hasn't said anything to Joe.
"I'm Katie!" She blurts out quickly after I hit her. I roll my eyes at how obvious she was, she's always like this when she fancies a guy. Joe just laughs back, as if he knows she was checking him out.
"Could we get two double vodka and lemonades?" I ask Joe, he quickly nods and turns away to make the drink. As he passed us our drinks, I took my credit card out to pay for them, instead Joe just winked and started serving someone else. We take our drinks to the dancefloor and mix in with the crowd, although trying to keep my distance from the many people grinding around us. We finish our drinks quickly as we dance and return to the bar, ordering the same and getting them for free once again.
"Ugh, what's he doing here?" Joe says as he notices someone behind us. I quickly look behind me, unsure who we are looking for. "The owner of Ivy is here." He shouts to us as he notices us looking. Oh shit. I notice Sam walking in with a group of his mates, what was he doing here? He never once came to this club before, why now.
"Oh god." I say, quickly turning away and back to the bar, trying to hide.
"Oh yeah, you know the guy don't you?" Joe mentions as he remembers I used to work there.
"Oh she knows him alright." Katie jokes. I used to go out with Sam. We dated after meeting at work, he basically lived with me at my apartment. Until I noticed texts in his phone from a new waitress, they'd both been sending each other pictures and had actually slept with each other whilst I was at work one night. He's the reason I left Ivy, it was not a pretty breakup.
"Daisy." I hear a voice behind me say, a voice that I know belongs to the dickhead. I slowly turn round and see Sam standing behind me, already looking apologetic.
"What do you want, Sam? Stalking me already." It had only been 2 weeks since we broke up.
"I heard you were working here, wanted to come by for a chat." Sam reaches to touch my arm but I shrug him off.
"Yes I work here, tonight's my night off so I'd rather not deal with any bullshit you have to say right now." I can't believe he thinks he can just turn up here and I'd agree to talk to him. I try to walk past him to go back to the dancefloor, but he grabs my arm as I just about make it past him. He's not going to leave me alone until we do talk. "Fine, let's go find somewhere to sit." I finally give in. I just want to get this conversation over and done with. Sam smiles as he tries to take my hand to walk me over to a booth, but I move my hand away and cross my arms. I notice that he's leading us to Harry's booth, I mean he's not here so I guess it's okay. Sam slides in the booth, and pats the space next to him, I roll my eyes at his naivety and move to the other side of the booth to sit opposite him.
"Okay, you've got 10 minutes and then I'm going back to getting super drunk." I state coldly.
"What's happened to you? Why are you working in a place like this, let alone drinking here!" Sam shouts with a disgusted tone.
"What's happened to me?! YOU...you broke my heart, Sam. You're a lying, cheating scumbag. I had to leave to work here and actually, it's a thousand times better than Ivy!" I shout, leaning across the table so that I know he hears every word. He leans back from me, looking guilty. As he should. I lean back in my seat, feeling the need to calm down a bit.
"This isn't you. This isn't the Daisy I fell in love with." Sam says, shaking his head.
"You're right, this is the Daisy that you cheated on. You lost the old me." I say as I stand up to leave the booth, if I don't get away from him now I'll erupt. He quickly follows me out the booth, grabbing my arm once again. But this time, strong enough so I can't get away. "Sam, you need to leave. Right. Now." I see, feeling my anger start to boil inside me.
"No. You're coming back to my club, where you belong." He says, inches away from my face. I furrow my brows at him in disbelief, he thinks he still owns me.
"Do we have a problem here?" I hear a man say from behind us. I look behind and see Harry, staring at Sam.
