At the Age of Eleven

I am a kid, but I am a person

There is a soul inside of me

So where's this law you've written?

Where is this decree?

I am a person

Something you don't see

I am who I am

Who I will always want to be

Children are not slave

Dogs, cats, or mice

We have feelings, too

A little respect would suffice

So here's to you adults

As we clink our drinks full of ice

We are the children of the world

We are people, as I've said more than twice
