Fallan

I perched on the edge of the bed, awkwardly playing with my thumbs as Levi began to unbutton his shirt behind me.
What have you gotten yourself into, you idiot.
Suddenly, I felt something covering my head, and the scent of lemon and mint filled my nostrils.
"There you go." Levi spoke gruffly, and I heard him shuffling on to the bed.
I picked the cloth from my head and realised it was Levi's ruffled grey shirt. I turned around and sent him a confused look, and felt the blush return to my cheeks. He was stretched out over the bed, only in his black suit trousers with his eyes closed. His pale, chiselled chest was staring right at me. Good fucking Lord.
"Are you sleeping in a dress?"
I sighed and realised he was right.
"Keep your eyes closed." I mumbled. He opened one eye and shook his head as I struggled to unbutton the back of the cream coloured dress.
"Let me." He replied, and shuffled behind me. His knuckles lightly grazed the skin of my back as he began to undo the remaining buttons, sending pleasant shivers down my spine. He must've noticed my reaction, as he exhaled and I felt the warm breath on the back of my neck. The dress began to fall down around my shoulders, and I grabbed it to hold it up.
"Thank you, now close your eyes."
I heard him move back to the bed, and I let the dress fall down completely. I kept my eyes on him to make sure he wasn't peeking as I stood there in my underwear. His shirt was surprisingly big on my small frame, and covered me decent enough.
Levi was sprawled over the entirety of the bed, so I grunted at him to move over.
"You're small, you can fit."
I rolled my eyes at him and shoved him over to his side of the bed.
"Shirt looks good on you." He muttered sleepily, and I felt the lump rise in my throat.
I got under the covers and positioned myself as far away from him as possible. Truthfully, I wanted to fall asleep in his arms, but I knew it was inappropriate so shook the thought from my head.
"I'm not going to touch you, who do you take me for? Don't be so nervous."
"I know that, thank you." I grumbled, and felt him turn to face my back. I felt a tug, and realised he was twisting a lock of my hair around his fingers.
"You're sounding disappointed again Reid."
I turned around and scowled at him, and realised how close he was to me. My wide eyes met with his steel grey orbs, and I felt breathless for a moment. In his tired state, he looked almost innocent.
"You look tired, sleep." He whispered, his voice husky.
"Easier said than done." I replied.
"Just turn around and close your eyes, I'll be here if you wake."
I nodded and turned back around, shutting my eyes and attempting to steady my breathing. I felt his hands lightly graze my back, and realised Levi was soothing me. I smiled gently at the action.
"Big softie." I whispered, and felt his breath against my neck as he hummed in amusement.
"I'm sorry." He breathed, his voice rasping slightly.
"What for?"
"Kenny."
My breath hitched at the mention of his uncle, but Levi rested his hand on the crook of my hip and stroked his thumb against it gently to soothe me.
"You don't need to apologise." I replied softly.
"Did he hurt you?"
My fingers trailed against the tender skin underneath my chin where the revolver had been pressed. It was sure to leave a bruise, but I didn't want to worry him.
"No."
"I shouldn't have let you walk by yourself. Not with that leg."
My leg.
I hadn't felt a thing from my leg or ribs all day, then again, I had always been a quick healer. Cuts and bruises usually disappeared in a day.
"It's fine Levi, honestly."
I heard him hum again and I turned to face him. He looked peaceful as I instinctively swiped a stray lock of hair from his forehead. Levi opened his eyes and I felt breathless for a moment. We stayed there and stared for a while, gazing into each others eyes.
"Fallan," He whispered, and gradually inched his face closer to mine. I felt my breath hitch as I moved closer to him.
When he finally closed the gap and our lips connected,
There were fireworks.
