Chapter 38

Ruby Pov-

I opened my eyes and looked to see the stary sky. My body felt like it was numb. I barley could move my arm but tried forcing myself up when I heard a voice that I recognize as Lisa.

Lisa: I wouldn't do that if I were you.

I turn my head to see Lisa sitting under a tree taking a sip out of a bottle.

Lisa: Sup

Ruby: What-What happened.

Lisa: Oh you know I beat the shit out of you and was about to kill you but didn't.

She took another sip out of the bottle and I frowned.

Ruby: Is that alcohol?

Lisa: Yeah want some?

I wanted to get up but decided against it since it hurt to much and rolled my way their body still in pain. I prop myself up next to the tree that Lisa was on and layer their. She handed me the bottle and I took it i looked at the bottle and took a sip. The instant the liquid hit my tongue I spat the liquid right out. I coughed at how strong and bad it tasted as Lisa laughed beside me.

Ruby: How can you drink this?!

Lisa just shrugged her shoulders and took another sip of the bottle. After awhile of silence I finally asked a question.

Ruby: So whats going on...Its been 10 years well not really since we've been talking for a long time since Beacon started and-.

Lisa: I may have spared your life but that doesn't mean I had a change of heart. I still hate you.

She drank the rest of the bottle and threw it to the tree next to us shattering to pieces. I would have comneted that she shouldn't drink and shouldn't littler but I have a feeling that nows not the best time...

Ruby: So why didn't you?

Lisa huffed a large sigh and looked at me.

Lisa: Its because theirs no point. Even if I killed you Yang and Dad still wouldn't love me and the one that I hate the most is already dead....

Their was a couple seconds of silence but then I spoke up.

Ruby: I'm sorry...

Lisa had a stern face but looked back at the ruins in front of us.

Ruby: I know I should have noticed it sooner and I know I should have been with you when everyone ignored you. I-

Lisa: For the love of Oum shut the fuck up already! I'm not here to hear you cry for me.

I looked at her a little shocked at what she said and she had an angry expression.

Lisa: How old were we six I was a dumb fucking idiot and so were you. Besides leaving that house was the best thing to ever happen to me...I was dumb for trying to get back in the family that literally treated me like a ghost.

I looked down with guilt but looked back up. I wanted to ask her to come back but before I could say anything she spoke first.

Lisa: And please don't ask me to come back. Just thinking about it makes my blood fucking boil!

She punched the tree that we sat on and made a hole in between us as I yelped at the sudden action. I looked at her eyes and see her eyes glowed slightly orange but went back to normal.

Lisa: Besides I had already had a family of my own but now their dead and now....now....

I looked at her and her she started to cry.

Lisa: I feel so lonely....

She started to curl herself into a ball and sob. My body was still in pain but I came over and hugged her. She stiffened but relaxed and picked up her head up and wiped away any tears.

Lisa: I don't need you to comfort me.

She scowled at me while I smiled.

Ruby: Well no matter what you say I'm still your sister and I want to help you.

Lisa was silent and looked down on the ground. Their was a couple minutes until I decided to break the silence.

Ruby: So what did you do to Uncle Qrow is he still around.

Lisa: No I left him at the front of a bar that I got that alcohol from.

Ruby: How did they even let you in looking like that, and also why do you look like that. It looks like you haven't even aged at all since you ran away?

Lisa: Oh you know how it is. When you sell your being to an eternal God of suffering you get a few perks. Like not being able to age until I get my vengeance on killing my family.

Ruby:..............................What?

I had so many thoughts on what she just said and I so many questions.

Lisa: Forget it you wouldn't understand even if I explained it.

Their was another couple seconds of silence until I spoke up.

Ruby: Look I know you won't come back nor can I make the past go away, But...

I look at her straight in the eyes as she looked at me with a blank expression.

Ruby: I want my sister back I want us to be a family again. Not right now of course but I wanna take it step by step...

I stood up my body still aching from the pain but my aura healed most of the damage. I brought my hand out wanting her to grab it.

Ruby: So what do you say?

Lisa looked at me with a blank expression but her expression turned sour. She got and looked up at me since she was shorter then me.

Lisa: Like hell I'm going to do that. I won't let you or myself trick me into going back. I hate them and they hate me.

I looked down dejected and put my hand down.

Lisa: But....

I look back at Lisa and she had a smirk on her face.

Lisa: I hate Yang and Dad the most but your different. I won't consider you as family to me but I'm willing to have you as a close acquaintance, but step by step.

She held out her hand as I smile.

Lisa: I'll consider you a close......friend.

She might no longer consider me as family yet, but this is fine. Who knows this might change later down the line.
