"Junk!" Zoe barked as she kicked the right front tire of the car they'd stolen. It was a Chevrolet Sedan, a very old model Chevrolet Sedan.

"The car keeps us safe and ahead of whatever that Terror thing is for the last two days, and you call it junk just because it broke down now?" Gokan asked. He was resting on the car, his elbows on the roof and his eyes on the girl.

"Shut up!" She retorted.

Gokan put both hands up in surrender. He'd spent a day and two nights with her. He'd gotten to know her temperament and just how to be with her peacefully.

"I don't even know why I decided to do this," she murmured.

The sun was overhead and it was hot. Zoe sat down next to the car, her back against the tire she'd kicked.

Gokan felt the girl wasn't okay. He wanted to say something nice, but he was scared she'd just get even angrier, or worse.

Zoe had her feet on the ground so her knees were pointed up at the skies. She rested her arms on those knees and kept her face to the floor. The car had stopped by the side of a lonely dirt road which went on quite a few miles before coming to any form of civilization. The sun was so hot and the rows of high tension poles holding up power lines that ran both sides of the road gave off this continuous buzzing noise which was disturbing if your ears hadn't adjusted to it.

A pair of dark shades were suddenly brought down before her face. Zoe immediately recognized them. She looked up at the wielder of the glasses. Gokan stood before her with a smile.

"Please don't hit me, but it looks like you need a friend," he said.

"You actually kept that?" The girl was surprised.

"You forgot it with me that day and I decided to hold on to it in case anything happened to my sisters and the cops asked for evidence against the blonde, I'd tell them you had threatened me."

Zoe raised a brow at the guy. "So it was kept as evidence to be used against me?"

Gokan shrugged. "I just felt like I had to have something in case anything happened to my family. I still think you're a bad guy, but you saved my life for some reason so I'm giving you back the one evidence I had as thank you. Also, the sun is hot and you don't look okay."

Zoe smiled and collected the shades from him. "I haven't killed anyone yet. I'm not like him."

"Like who?" Asked Gokan.

"Did I say that aloud?" Said the girl. "It's nothing."

Gokan decided against pushing the matter any further. They were getting along and that was what mattered.

"Help you up?" He asked, offering her a hand.

Zoe shook her head and rose up on her own. The guy withdrew his hand.

"So what now?" he asked as he pocketed his hands.

"I need to get back to the Slek Verum," she replied.

"So we're going to Biafra," said the guy.

"No, there's one on an island here in Chile and......." she trailed off as the thought struck her now.

"Mayu's family!!" She cried, her eyes widening.

"Is that a new exclamation, a new cuss word, a new...." Gokan didn't know what else to guess.

"My friend's family is in danger!"

"Seems everyone around you has their family's lives on the line," Gokan murmured.
