I think a lot of our problem is that we don't even realize how much pain someone is causing us for the longest because our feelings for that person are so strong that it numbs us. We do so much for whoever that person may be and they don't give us that same energy back to us. When we feel that we did something wrong, we take that fall so hard that it eats us alive. Yet when THEY do something wrong, we try to find a way to apologize for THEIR mistakes and find a way to make it right because we are afraid of losing them. They don't have to do anything but sit back and watch us bend over backwards to do anything and everything we can for that person.
Do we do it because we love them or because we think that they may love us back? That isn't love, if you ask me. That is purely a form of manipulation that they have up their sleeve. All of those times that they would take hours or even days to text or call us back? They just didn't care enough to give us the time of day.
We make excuses for them every time such as "they might be busy" or "I don't wanna bother them anymore" or "they may be thinking of me." If that person was actually thinking about us and wanted to talk to us, they would. Nobody will ever be too busy for someone they want to talk to. It's just best to let it go and to let THEM go. Spend more time learning to love yourself instead.
