Echo walked over to her black 2005 Charger and got inside; the black leather felt right against her black leather jacket. Tyler and Jess climbed into the Mustang while Mac got the Drone ready to find the convoy. Echo followed Tyler and Jess out to the rendezvous point, which was a gas station.
"Let's go grab ourselves a hypercar," Tyler said
"Drone's online and I'm looking for the convoy. You guys better hurry to the rendezvous point," Mac said over the radio
"I'm not sure what you did to the Mustang, Echo, but it feels tight and heavy. Like it's tensed up for a punch,"
"Yeah, well, I wanted it that way for running. All right Ty, remember, The House will have reinforcements protecting the convoy. We'll have to get rid of them first," Echo said
"Get me on the truck before it reaches the Ember Valley Tunnel and we're in business," Jess said
"The aerial surveillance will be blind inside the tunnel. Perfect time for a hit and run," Mac said
"Bulletproof plan," Tyler said
"Worst case scenario, we have a back-up plan, right?"
Jess chuckled, "That won't be necessary,"
"Mac, how long have you known Jess? She always has a plan B," Tyler said
"Oh, and the plan C, and D and plan E," Mac said
"You got that right!" Jess said
"Good to have you back sis. We're gonna raise so much hell together,"
"I'm not here for thrills, Mac. I'm here for the job,"
"Yeah, and we'll have fun doing it," Tyler said
"Seriously though, I'm here to help get you into The Rush, and that's it,"
"Mmhmm," Echo hummed, following Tyler and Jess through the off-road trails
"I'm dead serious,"
"Whatever you say Jess," Mac said
"Pull up here," Jess said
The two cars pulled up to the gas station. Tyler and Echo filled up their respective cars with gas. The pair went inside of the gas station to pay while Jess leaned against the Mustang on her phone
"Nervous?" Tyler asked
"Not at all," Echo responded
"Really? Because you are staring at Jess near the Mustang,"
Echo blinked and shook her head, "Sorry, lost in thought,"
"What about?"
"Better question is what am I not thinking about,"
"If you need to talk about it, I'm here,"
"Thanks, Ty. That's the nicest thing that your crew has done for me. Given me someone to finally lean on. I never used to be able to do that. Everyone leaned on me,"
"We lean on each other,"
Echo looked down and smiled, "I see that,"
"It's what a crew does. No one shoulder's everything. We do what we enjoy, that's enough for us,"
"Yeah,"
"So, what were you thinking about?"
Echo scoffed, looking up at Tyler, "What happens if things go sideways. I know that you and Mac trust Jess and her plans, but it's always in the back of my head. The "What if" of the job,"
