Forks...the home to not much, but a new fresh start. Me and my Ma decided that moving would be one of the best options, after all she found a house there and being around Chicago was becoming too much for both of us.

Two years ago my Dad died in a car crash on his way back from work. Loosing my Dad was one of the hardest things that I will ever go through. I will never forget that day, and when that knock on the door from the police officer came- my mothers screams and cries when she heard the news, while I just stood in complete shock.

Soon after that my Ma was diagnosed with cancer, although it was luckily caught early so it is under control. This was enough for us to decide to move far away from the place which no longer held positive memories, and somewhere far within the  USA, so we chose Forks- a small town in the state of Washington.

"Georgie," My ma says, causing me to wake up from my place in dream land, "We are entering Forks," She carries on. Looking around I see the entering sign, with forests all around. The weather is darker and slightly more cold, which I can tell from the car window being slightly open.

Before long we pull up to this smallish wooden house, I smile thinking how this our new home. A new beginning. Everything will change here.

Although perhaps more than I know.

After a quick nose around the small two bedroom house, we start to move in. Well, I am bringing in the boxes which we neatly packed, and Ma is unpacking. The delivery man came almost as soon as we arrived, and placed the big items such as beds in the house, while leaving the what seems like thousands of boxes in the old garage. Before wishing us luck and leaving.

After what felt like years, but in reality was a few hours all the boxes were in the house. A lot still needed to be unpacked, but the necessities were done.

Ma placed a picture of me, her and Dad on the last birthday I had before his death, on the wooden mantle piece. "We've made it darling," she says while wrapping an arm round me, "He would be so proud!" Causing her eyes to get teary.

"Anyway- Pizza sound good for dinner?" She asks, trying to change the mood, leading me to smile gratefully.

After our Walmart frozen Margaretta we head to bed after the long day. I stare up at the ceiling groaning at the thought of a starting a new school tomorrow, before falling into a deep sleep.
