FRIDAY AFTERNOON, and I'm sitting on the couch watching Johnny and Dominic furiously click their controllers and yell into their headset as they play Call of Duty.
"Watch out there's someone coming up behind you!" Johnny yells to some of his teammates since they're literally about to lose.
"Ahh! Shit!" Dom falls back on the couch as he gets shot and dies, loosing the game. He turns to me and offers me the controller. "You playing bro?"
I shake my head. "Na, I'm good."
"Dude what the hell is wrong with you? You've been so quiet since you came back home?" Johnny says his eyes still glued to the match.
But I don't get to answer—the loud moaning coming from Noah's room upstairs has distracted me. Shortly after I'd gotten home a gorgeous brunette showed up looking for Noah wearing a trench coat—needless to say he hasn't left his room since. That boy has girls over almost everyday—well last year he did but clearly this year won't be any different—he's the biggest slut out of the four of us. Not that I'm judging, shit I'm in no position to talk, none of us are.
We're all pretty slutty. We like to fuck girls. And girls love to fuck football players. That's just how it is.
What can I say, girls are horny for football players.
"Let's go see what's happening on campus," Johnny suggest.
Johnny is one hell of a running back, and one of the best I've ever played with. He's also a damn good best friend. We met a few years back during football camp along with Noah. We got along so well and became even closer when we found out we'd be attending the same university.
Noah is one of our wide receivers. A fast, one. And Dominic—a tight end. He's one of the most dedicated guys I've ever met. Not only is he fast and quick on his feet but he's also fucking smart.
Last year when we first came here we met Dominic. (Dom for short.) Like me, he's also from Texas and cool as hell. We needed another roommate so we asked him to move in with us and now he's one of my best friends. I would have to say that he's definitely the more chill and quite one of the bunch.
My junior year of high school was both the best and worst for me. I fell in love for the first time and only time. The love I had for Nicole was so strong even till now I can still feel it. All the time I spent with her was the best time of my life but it was shortly lived when my childhood best friend—Alex—was murdered.
I went into a big depression and almost lost myself in the process of coping. But I thank God everyday that I was able to pull myself out of that whole. What I lived with Alex I know can never be replaced but I'm very grateful I met these guys and that I'm able to call them best friends.
Seeing Daisy again brought back a lot of memories. Both good and bad ones. We both lost our loves and best friends that night. At first I did try to keep in touch with her but her phone was taken up and I gave up. I wasn't in the best state of mind anyways. Then I came to Calvary. Eventually she reached out to me and now she's here—also at Calvary. With me. This time I won't be an asshole and leave her, like I did with everything else.
"Yeah let's go. Cause I don't wanna stay in and listen to this all night." I say standing up from the couch.
After a few minutes of getting ready, we hop in my truck, stopping real quick at the store for some gas. Then off to campus.
"Max said there's a dorm party there in Eastwood, y'all tryna go?" Dom says sticking his head out the window.
"We can stop before security shuts it down." I say chuckling.
