10. a pain in my chest

marinette's pov

Not going to lie it's been a busy week and a half. I started working on my dress for the event.

I wanted to make it Ladybug themed. One, it was a big style right now. Two, although Ladybug is a fake personality I made up to keep citizens safe she's still a part of me and I wanted to show that. Although nobody else would know.

Chat Noir hasn't visited me once in this week and a half.
I worried about him but he did say he was going to the ball so it makes since he's busy. Or gala. I don't know, I've never been to one of these before.

I miss the tomcat. His puns sucked, but he was always good company. I smiled to myself.

I took some red sequin fabric and began sewing it to the dress.

I was revisiting my memories of this pass week. Adrien was acting weird too. Maybe he was have issues with Kagami? NO! What am I thinking? They're  in a happy relationship no need to ruin it with jealousy.
I slammed my head on my table after finishing sewing on the sequins.

"Urgh," I groaned.

I looked over and saw Tiki peacefully sleeping on a pillow atop of the chaise.

"Minus well take a break," I stretched reaching over to put on my shoes.

I looked in the mirror to see my reflection. I was in my pajamas. Well it was Sunday.

Putting on some regular clothes, I rushed out the door.

I stole a glance at Tiki on the pillow and smiled. She needs a break.

After exiting I made my way down the street to see a familiar blond boy with green eyes.

I walked over and sat on a bench, pulling out my sketch book for some inspiration.

"He's so gorgeous," I sighed looking in his direction. He hadn't noticed me but someone else did.

"Yes, I really love him."

I turned around bewildered that someone heard my comment.

"Oh. Hey Kagami how are you?" I asked.

I tried to get over feeling butt hurt about Adrien. It was my fault I didn't ask him out so, I shouldn't be upset. Not like I stood a chance anyway. I shook my thoughts from my head.

"I'm great, just checking up on my boyfriend," She said as if making it clear that he was hers.
"How about you Marinette?" She asked.

"Oh I was taking a break from sewing and came to the park when I noticed Adrien's photo shoot," I smiled.

She looked relieved but at the same time looked as though she didn't quite buy it.

"I see," Kagami said.

"Hello ladies."

Me and Kagami looked up to see a tall boy with black and blue dyed hair. I smiled.

"Hey Luka," I said.

"Hello Mrs. M-Mm-Marinette," He said happily earning a jab in the side.

"I told you to quit it," I said playfully.

"Sorry! Sorry!" He laughed putting his hands up in surrender.

"Is that so," I said squinting my eyes with a sour face. This earned a giggle from both Luka and Kagami.

"It nice to see you two together," Kagami said.
Luka and I exchanged glances and smiled as a slight blush creep up on my face.

"Hey guys!"

"Hey babe!" Kagami said as she rushed over and gave him a peck on the lips. His surprise went unnoticed by Luka but I could tell.

adrien's pov

This is so boring.

I did a couple more poses earning complements and praise from my photographer and team.

I looked around durning on of my poses when I saw two raven haired girls talking.

Kagami  and..... Marinette?

Strange. I knew they were friends but the last time they saw each other Marinette looked upset.

Girl's are weird.

I turned back to photographer and took a couple more shoots before we went on break.

I turned back towards the girls and saw another boy with them.

Luka.

He was a nice guy but I couldn't place my finger on it. He just felt off.
Everyone else's liked him. And I was cool with him too but he was always trying to get close with Mari. I just thought it was....a little.... weird.

I saw Marinette jab him in the side and the three of them start laughing. There was a pain in my stomach. I don't know why. It just hurt.

I made my way over there to join in.

"Hey guys!"

"Hey babe!" Kagami said as she dashed over towards me. Unusual.

She placed a peck on my lips and I took a small step back. I played it off like I expected the kiss before my eyes wandered to Marinette.

She stared with a little pig face. Her eyebrows were raised and her mouth was slightly open. Her mouth. I wonder what- stop. She's my friend. Calm down.

"H-Hey Kagami," I said rubbing my hand behind my neck. That was awkward.

"Hey Adrien," Marinette smiled warmly. I smiled back. She was so amazing. How could someone make you feel so free with one smile.

"Hey dude," Luka said. His smile was crooked. A half smiled. I gave him a nod and a fist bump before he swung his arm around Mari's neck.

There it was. That pain. Again.
