Pretending

chapter 2

Throwing my bag on my bed I sighed and let my body flop onto it . With not being able to get to sleep last night and my body still being weak I ended up drifting off to sleep .

Fluttering my eyes open I first noticed it was now dark outside , then I saw that a blanket had been laid over me and my bag was neatly placed on the floor . Smiling to myself I stretched out my arms and legs then got up of my bed . I walked slowly over to my bag , picked it up then carried it over to my bed . Then I started to unpack my belongings .

Wich is when my cousin walks in and sits down on the bed . " mum and dad have went out but said we can order pizza for dinner " Smiling kindly I looked at him with a sad expression . " Also I thought you could have this " Kenma handed me a small black phone and continues " cuz It's my spare , I've already put mine and mum and dads numbers in it " I nod in understanding as I accept  the object .

Kenma let me choose a movie from his collection and we watched it while eating pizza . I didn't feel like eating , but my cousin seemed to understand and didn't ask me about it . Instead we just watched the movie occasionally stopping to discus it .

" what do you want now " In the corner of my eye i noticed Kenma had is phone to his ear . Who ever is on the other end was talking so loudly that whenever the movie went quiet i could hear them . " I can't " He replied with a tired expression . Then he ended the call and smiled slightly at me " hyperactive people right " Laughing a little , i smiled .

Time skip : after everyone is asleep    

Floating down swiftly a leaf fell off a tree and started tapping against my window . With the help of the soft wind . I stood looking outside my window . Everyone had fallen asleep while I was remembering all that had happened . From my parents death to moving in with my cousin . Not to mention what happened with Rel my best friend .  At that moment i looked at the phone my cousin gave me wich gave me a idea . So i walked quickly over to my bed , sat down and began to log into my instagram account . To find i had a tone of messages from all my friends . But none from Rel  . After sending her a message i climbed into bed and once again tried to go to sleep .

The next morning I woke up to the smell of freshly cooked pancakes . I then slid out of bed and plodded down stairs to see Kenma sat at the table wearing what looked like a school uniform . His mum was cooking breakfast while his dad was sat at the table drinking some coffee .

" Morning sweetie , do you want some pancakes ? I shook my head politely and went and sat down next to Kenma . Who was playing on his psp while eating his breakfast . " I've gotta got to go to school today , but don't worry mum's staying at home today "  Breathing in a shaky breath nodded to say I understand .

Half an hour later I was lead on my bed scrolling through the mainy messages I received from my friends . But not replying because the only friend I wanted to talk to was ignoring me . Rel hadn't responded to my message that I sent last night . I knew she would have seen it cuz she had school today so would have had to get up at a reasonable time . But even so she still hasn't responded , Which I found very disappointing and confusing .

At half three I heard Kenma's voice outside . So I walked across my room to the window . Which is when I saw him talking to someone with black spiky hair . Then I began to think maybe this is the guy he was talking to last night . Stepping back in shock I almost fell over and landed on the floor . They had seen me and I don't know why but I was worried for some unknown reason.

Eager to find out what they were saying I crawled to the window and peered out slightly . I couldn't hear them that well so I had to try and be really quiet .

" Common Kenma , I just wanna meet him " Kenma shock his head and started walking to the front door . " It's probably best if you don't , anyway he might be going to school next week so you'll just have to wait " The kid with the spiky hair sighed then began to walk off down the street .

As I slid down against the wall I heard footsteps coming up the stairs . " Hey , are you okay " Nodding , I looked at Kenma as his phone buzzed and he sighed . Then he left and went to his room .

Later that evening at dinner time Kenma's mum explained how if I'm feeling okay with it next week I could start school . To Which I agreed with . Then Kenma started talking about an upcoming match he's got and explained that he's on the volleyball team . " You can come if you want. It's on Saturday " Kenma smiled kindly . Followed by his dad speaking up " that's kind of you and all Kenma , but he might not feel any less anxious " my cousin nodded and his phone buzzed .

After checking it quickly he announced who it was " it's Kuroo again " the way he sighed at the end of the statement showed how little he cared . Which  confused me .
