chapter 10

As I walked to the school building the bell rang . Monuments later Kuroo ran up behind me and patted me on the shoulder . Then we walked in together for a while . Until Kuroo left to go to his class .

Finally I was free from the hyper captain . But I would have to walk home with him talking non stop . ' how does my cousin cope with him ' I thought .

My next class was math , one of the only classes I had that Lev wasn't in . So I was all alone with no one to talk to . But I preferred that to talking to chattie people .

Time skip : after school , after practice

Practice was the same as normal today . Well as normal as it could be with the captain of the team looking at you and smiling every chance he could get .

The team had another match soon so they seemed to be training harder than usual . Kuroo actually seemed to be as worn out as the rest of the team by the end of practice .

Once practice had finished Kenma and the rest of the team except Kuroo left the gym

" Hey Ash , let's go " Nodding , I jumped up quickly , as I was just about ready for the day to end . So I could get away from the creepy captain .

I followed him to the gym door to find it was raining . Fear must have been visible on my face because the next thing Kuroo puts his hands on my shoulders . From where he is standing behind me , Kuroo speaks in a supportive tone “ it’s okay Ash , i promise nothing bads gonna happen “ Then he walked around me while trailing a hand over the back of my neck to my shoulder . Sending a series of shivers through me . Followed by him picking up one of my hands and attempting to lead me out the door out into the harsh environment .

Kuroo’s pov

Ash hesitated as I tried to tempt him out into the heavy rain . I knew he didn’t like it but some when , somehow he had to get over it . So I thought I might as well be the one to help him . Not because I mind if he likes me or not , or do i . I’m not entirely sure . But what I do know is I don't want things to be weird between me , him and kenma .

I blinked slowly then spoke in a calm tone “ I promise “ Then I nodded once and gave him a small smile to reassure him . He started shuffling falwards slowly . A worried expression terrorised his face as he looked me in the eyes .

He breathed in a shaky breath as he stepped out into the rain . I stood further from the safety of the gym than him . Drops of rain patted his face as he looked up towards the sky . So I decided to encourage him ” you're alright don’t worry “ Ash smiled nervously . Which i laughed at . “ it’s not funny “ My friend stamped his foot after telling me off . Without realising he stamped in a puddle which reflected away from his foot and drenched the bottom of his trousers .

Ash glared at me, his face looking angry although he looked like he might burst into laughter any minute . Seconds later he started laughing more than i've ever seen him . Well i would actually say that’s his true laugh .

We both stood in the rain laughing for a couple of minutes . “ Lets get going then Ashie “ After speaking i myself seemed to be shocked at what i said . I didn’t actually mean to speak in that way , it just happened . Ash Looked really confused at what I did . Probably more confused than me .

Ash’s pov

Once again Kuroo beckoned for me to follow him . This time I obeyed him even though I didn't hold his hand that he had reached out to me . 

The walk to the train station didn't take that long . Before I even acknowledge where we were , we had arrived at the busy station . Wich is when Kuroo spoke . " See I told you nothing bad was gonna happen " I looked at him and sighed . There was no way I was gonna admit he was right because I wasn't safe in my room yet .

Me and Kuroo walked through the gates to the platform . To be greeted with a mildly busy area . Left of me there stood some small shops where you could buy snacks . As we walked past a mini general store Kuroo looked at me with curiosity " hey Ash you hungry , I'm hungry "

Next thing he's grabbing my arm and dragging me after him into the small shop . I don’t even have a choice as he pulls me into the room filled with isles and isles of snacks . A childish smirk appeared on his face which worried me . Ever since i understood his personality i found out that when he's acting like this it’s maybe a good idea to stay away from him . Although him still holding on to my arm was preventing that .

While we were walking around Kuroo was still holding my arm . Just the thought of him holding my hand caused me to blush , not to mention he was actually doing so . He didn't seem to notice this as he continued to look for snacks .

" You want anything " He let go of my arm and wrapped is own arm around my shoulders . Although I was gonna refuse my stomach growled out a reply and Kuroo laughed . " So I'll say that's a yes then huh " I nodded shly . Then he picked up some more stuff . Next he walked to the counter to pay for it and I trailed behind slowly .

Once we had finished in the shop we headed out side to wait for the train . That's when Kuroo started rumaging through the bag containing all the snacks he brought . After pulling out a mini chocolate bar Kuroo offered me something out of the bag . " It's k I'm not hungry " My friend shock his head " your stomach is saying something completely different " Then he laughed . I couldn't exactly deny the fact that I was hungry when my tummy was practically yelling . So I nodded and he smiled at me .

I reached my hand inside the bag and pulled out a packet of chewy sweets . Kuroo started grinning as I did so " good choice , there really nice " Laughing and shaking my head at his response I continued to open the packet .

Time skip : on the train
Ash's pov           

Rain floated down from the sky . Me and Kuroo were sat on the train heading home . I had one of my ear phones in , as I thought because Kenma wasn't here today I should at least listen the spiky haired kid .

The beginning of one of my favorite songs started and I started Nodding along with the beat . Kuroo then leaned towards me to see what I was listening to .

" This song is really good " After sighing at my friend I noticed he he put the spear earphone in his own ear . I just laughed it off and went back to playing my game as Kuroo started nodding along with the song .

The train hissed as it slowed to a stop . Kuroo stood up egar to get of the train and I followed in a lazy manour .

Nether of us said a word as we walked home . Once we arrive at my house I turned to Kuroo just as he began to lean towards me . I thought it was just him being weird , until he kisses me on the lips . " See you tomorrow Ashie " Then he slowly walked away to his house with a smile on his face .

I was stood frozen out side my house for a while . He kissed me . The captain of the volleyball team . My cousin's friend .
