Pretending

chapter 9

The lesson went by really slowly . I believe I somehow ended up falling asleep with my head on my desk .

" Hey Ash , wake up " I half opened my eyes to see lev one of the members of the volleyball team shaking me . We were mostly in the same classes so we sometimes talked . Blinking at the tall kid I sighed . Then he spoke " you like slept through the whole lesson " . My mouth opened in shock and Lev nodded to confirm what he said was infact true .

Me and Lev walked to the gym together . Although I still felt sleepy I persuaded myself to follow after the tall first year .

The walk was quite peaceful eventhough Lev could be annoying sometimes . It seemed like he had ran out of things to talk about . So he wasn't talking as much as he usually does .

When we got to the gym the other boys were already there . My cousin was stood at the back of the room playing on his phone and Kuroo was joking around with some of the team . But when I walked in everyone looked in my direction . It was probably because I ran of during lunch .

So I just ignored everyone and went to sit down at the side of the the room . Then I put both my earphones in so I didn't have to answer any questions .

Time skip : after practice

Someone tapped me on the shoulder to get my attention . So I took one of my earphones out and looked up to see Kuroo . In his hands was what looked like small chocolate bar . As I gave him a questioning look he smiled " want some " I looked up at him and shock my head . Then he spoke again " you should eat something , cuz I doubt you had anything after walking of at lunch " Me sighing brought a worried expression to haunt his face .

Then I got up and the two of us walk to the door that lead outside , where Kenma was waiting . On the way home I was to busy playing on my phone to listen to what my cousin and the spiky hair captain were saying .

Time skip : the next morning

My cousin and I had just walked out the front door to see Kuroo waiting outside . Today I had decided to yet again to not have any breakfast . The train ride was the same as usual , with kuroo talking to Kenma with a exited tone .

The day wasn't any different . Lev was in most of my classes today .

But when lunch time arrived I received a text message .

Kuroo : can u meet me in the gym , now

I groned and read the message again . Then I started to decide how I was gonna respond .

Ash : do I have 2

Seconds later I got a reply .

Kuroo : ye , ye u do

After putting my phone in my pocket I turned around and started heading towards the gym . To meet up with the joyful captain .

Time skip : at the gym
Ash's pov

" Hey Ash catch " I looked up from my phone to see a volleyball ball flying at my face again . But this time I managed to catch it , after quickly sliding my phone into my pocket . Kuroo was stood over the other side of the room smiling at me . " Good catch " I shrugged in response and walked further into the room . The spiky haired kid stood still looking at me . While I approached with the volleyball in my hands .

His lips smiled a little as I stopped walking and stood infront of him . " What's up " While laughing he took the ball from me . Then he brought a hand to my head and messed up my hair in a playful way .

Kuroo was agrivating me . So I pushed my hands against his chest to get away from him . While doing so I was able to feel the shape of his chest . After doing so I started blushing , to wich he laughed at . " I want to practice a little more , and I need some to help " Deep down I knew Kuroo had some alteria motive but I still agreed to help him . Although he chose me to help he could have chosen any one else .

I threw each of the volleyballs up in the air and Kuroo hit each one over the net . He was still smiling as usual . " Hey … Ash Kenma told me to let you know that he's meeting up with a friend after school " He looked tired out as he spoke " so it'll be just me and you walking home tonight " Sighing at what he said , I grabbed my bag and walked out the gym door . Leaving Kuroo behind , confused about what just happened .
