Pretending

chapter 13

To weeks passed , every practice session I was present for . Me and Kuroo hadn't spoken any more on the subject of who I like . Kuroo has tried to ask me if I want to hang out outside of school , but everytime he's asked I've refused him .

I was walking back to the gym after going to the shop during practice . When I got back Kuroo smiled at me and I laughed to myself . Then I walked over to the side of the room and sat down to watch the rest of the practice session .

Time skip : on the way home from practice
Ash's pov

On the way home Kuroo kept smiling . When ever I turned to look at him he was grinning at me . It was starting to get creepy . Even though , he usually acts like that .

Kenma was playing on his phone like he usally does . He was walking besides me on my left . While kuroo was skipping joyfully along on the right side of me .

My phone then buzzed in my pocket and I sighed before answering it .

Kuroo : hey can u meet me at the park later at 7 cuz I wanna talk 2 u alone

After looking at Kuroo with a frustrated face he nodded . " I'll get some Chocolate "  I finally agreed with the tall figure to meet up with him just before we reached my house .

The park was half way between kuroo's house and mine . So it was the ideal meeting place for the both of us .

Forty five minutes later I sat down at the table with Kenma , his mum and his dad . Kenma told his parents that he had another match soon , while we were eating . Through the whole meal time I hadn't said a word and soon we had all finished and my cousin agreed to collect up all the plates .

So I wandered up stairs to my room . I slid my arms into a hoodie then shrugged it over my shoulders .

The park was only a fifteen minute walk from my house . So I knew I could walk at my own pace without being late . Wich was a relief because I felt exhausted after the day at school . Not to mention the fact that I'm still not eating much is making my body very week .

Kuroo's pov

Just when I was about to leave to meet up with Ash  my dad walked out of the kitchen . " What you up to kiddo " I shrugged my shoulders carelessly . " Just going for a walk " Then my dad nodded while pretending that he believed me .

I felt giddy at the thought of seeing Ash because I've decided I'm gonna ask him if he's made up his mind yet . The natural darkness of night was getting closer and closer . One foot after another I got closer to where I was gonna meet the cute scarred kid .

My exietment overwhelmed me when I reached the park and saw him stood there playing on his phone . It took a huge amount of will power I never knew I had , to not run over to him and squash him into a tight hug . But I knew that would freak him out so I remained calm and walked over to him smiling .

Ash's pov : at the park

Eventhough I had arrived early I wasn't bothered .  I just stood playing on my phone while listening to music . Until i noticed kuroo walking over to me .

We had decided to sit in the park because it was empty and no one was around . I was sat on a swing , swaying back and forth while letting my shoes scuff along the floor . Kuroo was walking along a wooden bar and talking to me .

" So Ash given any thought to what what we talked about two weeks ago " After hearing what he said I firmly planted my feet on the ground . Wich stoped the swing from moving . Then I nodded to let him know that I had spent a little time thinking about it . Kuroo jumped down from the  bar and ran over to me with a hyper expression " and …. " Shrugging , I replied " I'm still not sure "

Kuroo seemed to have a calm expression after I told him this . " It's okay Ash , you can take your time deciding " I raised my eyebrows to question what he said and he just nodded contently with his eyes closed softly .

Me and Kuroo sat in silence for a while until a cold gust of wind shoots past me and I started to shiver . Within seconds of me reacting to the harsh weather , the spiky haired captain offers me his jacket . " Are you cold " I shock my head because I didn't want to owe anyone " common Ash it's pretty obvious and I don't mind “

In the end Kuroo wrapped his jacket around me . But after doing so his fingertips brushed lightly against my face . A blush formed on my face and I tried to hide it by pulling kuroo's jacket over my cheeks .

He then started laughing and once he had finished he pulled me into a tight hug . But seconds after accepting the gesture I escaped from it . Kuroo seemed confused by my action but I just ignored his reaction and spoke what was on my mind .

I took a deep breath before I finally said what I've been wanting to say . " W… well we could give us a go “ Kuroo’s eyes widened . “ Are you serious Ash? “ Nodding with a small smile on my face , I sighed and the tall figure hugged me again . But this time when I tried to pull away Kuroo put his hands on my cheeks . So I looked up into his honey coloured eyes .

“ Ashie … i really want to kiss you now , but i don’t wanna make you feel too uncomfortable “ I know Kuroo was trying to be nice but if i’m being honest i really want him to kiss me .

But I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of getting what he wanted so i didn’t say another word until he decided to walk me home . When we got to my house he hugged me before walking off towards his own house .
