chapter 14

Fourteen days before the big game . I was helping the team practice . When a painful scream filled the air . So we all turned to where it came from to see Lev , he was led on the floor with his left ankle at an unnatural angle . Lev’s face was scrunched up in pain within the next two seconds everyone in the gym was surrounding him .

We were huddled around him when someone said something . “ How many fingers am I holding up dude “ Everyone looked at Yamamoto confused to see he had two fingers in the air . “ It’s his foot not his head you idiot “ The vice captain of the team Kai , whacked the multi colored haired kid over the head after proving him wrong .   

Twenty five minutes later with the help of the coach and one of the paramedics Lev was escorted out of the gym . Leaving the rest of the team to watch with concerned looks on their faces . " Oh great what we gonna do now we're a man down for the big match " Yamamoto sighed while watching his friend leave the building .

Kai slapped his hand against his own face " obviously , we're gonna have to find someone else or forfit the match " A horrified look grew on kuroo's face " we can't forfit " He then turned to face me smiling " Ashie " I started shaking my head immediately after he started to suggest that I fill in for the injured team member .

Ten minute time skip

" No , just no " I stubbornly crossed my arms over my flat chest . Kuroo fluttered his eyelashes at me in an attempt to convince me . " Please Ashie "

Everyone had left and went home . Kenma said he was gonna go and hang out with Shoyo again . Kuroo didn't want to give up on the idea of me joining the team . So he found a spare uniform, dumped it in my arms then shoved me into the changing room .

For a while I just stood staring at the red clothes . Even though I was still a little unsure of whether I liked kuroo or not , I still found it quite relaxing when he kissed me . I started to daydream about how it felt when his lips brushed over mine .

Next thing Kuroo walks into the changing room looking worried . " Hey are you alright , you've been in here a while " After glancing at him with a empty expression , I looked back down at the clothes that I put on the bench in the room . Kuroo walked up to me with a sympathetic look on his face and pulled me into a hug with one hand . Surprisingly I didn't reject the gesture .

Instead I rested my head against his toned Chest . Then he started laughing at my innocent nature " common Ashie I know you'll be good at it , and we'll get an excuse to hang out more " Kuroo then winked at me and I blushed .

The spiky haired captain nodded to the red uniform . " For me , please " After Kuroo asked me this he brought his hand up to rest on my chin as he stroked his thumb across my face . I nodded slowly with one side of my face still against his warm body . " But you've gotta wait outside " To my surprise he nodded , he didn't even question why .

I slid trousers down my legs and stepped out of the material . Then I stepped into the red shorts and pulled them up over my hips . But when I moved my arms to unbutton my shirt I froze momentarily before I quickly took it off . Immediately after I replaced it with the red t-shirt . 

Then I put my black and red  high tops on although I wasn't supposed to wear them to school today . But I still did .  After talking a deep breath I walked out of the changing room and into the gym . To see Kuroo smiling with a kind expression .

Ten minutes later

" Ughh , I told you I can't do this " Kuroo was stood over my limp figure as I layed on the gym floor " it's okay Ashie , I believe in you " I looked up at him with an eyebrow raised . Then he held an arm out to me and I accepted his help . But after he pulled me up of the floor he wrapped his arms over my shoulders .

Wich is when I looked at him confused to what he was doing . So he looked at my lips suggestively . Before he leaned closer to me . Then he kissed my lips gently while his hand rested on the back of my head . I smiled exited at the opportunity to get kissed by Kuroo again .

As he broke away from the kiss he brought his lips to my ear and whispered out a motivational reply . " I know you can do it , and if you do maybe I'll give you a reward " Kuroo's voice in my ear gave me goosebumps . The way he whispered exited me . Once he had finished taunting me Kuroo flicked his tongue over the back of my ear .

" We should probably get on with training you " I gave a disappointed sigh and Kuroo laughed . " What do you really want to skip practice that much " He then fluttered his eyelashes at me and continued " even if it's just you and me " After what he said I couldn't stop thinking about what he did earlier and I ended up blushing . Then he raised an eyebrow " oh Ashie , trying to get with the teacher is not gonna work "

A shocked look covered my face " I ...w… wasn't ...t… try… trying to " Kuroo started laughing before I was finished " awww Ashie it's okay " Then he walked over the other side of the room and picked up a volleyball . Next he nodded to me before he threw it my way .

Immediately reacting on my instincts , I brought my hands up to shield my face and surprisingly caught the ball . After I did so , Kuroo started clapping and I started blushing again , still thinking about what he said earlier .

We practiced for another fifteen minutes before Kuroo started to pack the equipment up . Once he finished he motioned for me to follow him . “ Common Ashie lets get you home “ I followed after obediently .

Soon as we both step out of the gym Kuroo led one of his arms cross my shoulders . But I felt to exusted to complain so I just let him . Then we walked to the train station .

Kuroo still didn't move his arm when we got to the not so busy train platform . But he did look down at me . " Want some chocolate Ashie " I shock my head and replyed " na I'm fine , and besides I feel guilty if you buy it for me , cuz you always buy do . " A small smile slid into his face . ' I know it was probably because I don't speak that much , but what can I say I'm actually starting to feel more comfortable around him '

I looked up to Kuroo just as a train pulled into the station . He smiled back before pulling a funny face . Wich caused me to start laughing . While laughing I turned my body slightly so I was stood leaning against his chest .

Then a voice from the speaker told us the next train that was due was the one we were waiting for . So Kuroo moved his arm of my shoulder and wrapped his hand around mine . Once the train had stopped we both walked falwards and sat down next to each other .

Five minute time skip

I have been looking out the window for a while . Just watching the outside world pass as I listen to music . It felt really calming after the day I had . My head started feeling heavy on my shoulders . So I leaned my head against kuroo . But I didn't even acknowledge his reaction before I closed my eyes and fell asleep .
