BACKSTORY

9 years ago today Inko Midoriya was murdered by none other than Izukus father Hisashi Midoriya because she gave birth to a *useless child*.

Izuku was quirkless and his father did not like that one bit. No one did. Everyone in school hated him and they had a right to.

He was useless waste of space.

His father didn't care about how innocent, cute or well behaved he was.
He didn't even pay any attention to the fact that izuku was smarter than anyone his age. Maybe even smarter than a 12 year old at this point in time. He always loved to read, write and solve problems as well as that he was very observant and could easily come up with skilled strategies.

But no. No one had room for a quirkless child no matter how smart and well behaved he may be.

He still held onto some hope that his bestfriend katsuki bakugo or kachann as the small broccoli boy deemed his name to be, would accept him and still be his bestfriend.

Boy was he wrong. Katsuki was furious that he was ever friends with such a disgrace and started to bully him non stop with he help of his goons.

As for any abuse at home Inko always protected her son from getting injured by hisashi but one day he went to far and with his brute force over her little body killed her in the living room
While izuku sat and watched horrified.

Hisashi always told izuku it was his fault and he himself should've been the one to die by his hands instead of the beloved inko.
And of course izuku believed every single word.
'What if had just been strong enough to help her instead of being so weak?' He asked himself everyday.

A year or so after her death, after a year of Hisashi drunkly beating his son with knives, beer bottles, baseball bats and many other excuciatingly painful things, he disappeared no where to be seen.

Leaving izuku who was at that time 5, all alone to fend for himself.

At first it was hard for izuku to survive.
He lived in the streets and occasionally found money or food in random places or got it given to him which made him terribly underweight.
He soon got used to almost never eating and sleeping. He used his smarts to survive.

At the age of 6 izuku had enough of not being able to protect himself and being weak.

He decided to train himself in multiple martial arts styles including defence and attack mechanisms and how to fight with different weapons including, throwing knives, bo staff, katana, capturing scarf(much like azaiwas capturing gear) and multiple styles guns.
Not only did he train his physical skills he also became quite skilled in hacking, which he found incredibly fun.

After about 4-6 months of training he decided to take his skills out into the crime ridden world, but he wouldn't become a hero oh no izuku didn't want that. Whenever he needed a hero they always brushed him off as an *annoying brat*. Heros are just low live wanna bes looking for fame and money, although there were still some heros that izuku looked up to. Eraserhead and present mic being his favourites and all might being right at the very bottom of that list along with endeawhore

He didn't want anyone to think of him that way so he became the next best thing without becoming a villan.

A vigilante.
I mean.
He was quirkless no?
Meaning that techniquely he wasnt breaking a single law.

Well let's just forget about the hacking for a quick second yea? Cool ok anyways.......

He never wanted to be a villan and he never would be but, even if he wanted to be a hero still, he's quirkless.

They wouldn't let a quirkless loser like him in there precious line of wamna be heros.
So it was decided.

Izuku midoriya was now known as the vigilante hikari
(translating to light according to google translate :3)

And now
(timeskip to izukus actual age)
He was the #1 wanted vigilante in all of musutafu

And only at the age of 14.
But no one needed to know that little detail..or any detail about him for that matter
