Chapter 15

After staying a couple days in the hospital, Nova'Rain was coming home. I was so excited to leave and welcome her to the house. We rushed home. I got her out the car seat and took her in her nursery. I laid her tiny self in the crib and made sure she was nice and warm.

You got this mommy Shit down already. Jordan smiled bringing her baby bag into the room.

Yeah I guess it just comes naturally. I laughed helping him unpack the bag.

Go ahead I got this.!

Okay. Ima take a shower and start dinner.

Just go take a shower I'll start dinner you just had a baby. Relax.!

Okayyyy I can take a hint.! I laughed. I went into our bedroom and got ready to take a shower. I died for a real shower in that hospital. One thing they don't tell you after child birth is that you bleed like crazy. I felt so nasty. But these granny panties they gave you was so soothing and the ice packs.

I got out the shower and layed down for a bit. I sent pictures to Jas, ginger, and ray. Everybody was so happy to see little ms Nova'Rain. She was so beautiful. I couldn't believe I was really someone's mom. I was enjoying every second and every minute of this new life.

I woke up and the time was 7pm. I can't believe I slept so long. I got up and Jordan was feeding Novi. I kissed him and my daughter before sitting next to them on the couch.

How is she? I asked looking at the bottle.

She's doing good she ate a little more than 2oz just now. He said burping her.

That's good. What you cook for dinner?

I made chicken and rice. Your plate is in the microwave. How did you sleep.?

I slept good why you let me sleep so late.?!

I don't know. It seem like you was tired the way you was snoring. Plus she's been sleep this whole time. I had to wake her up to eat.

Really.? Yeah. She eat than fall back to sleep. I know she was gone be a good baby.! He smiled at her kissing her cheek:

I know she is. We gotta go get her milk.

Wanna go get it now.?

Ight. He stood up putting her in her snow suit than car seat. He carried her out the door and I grabbed the keys. I buckled her in the back seat and got in the front while he brushed the snow off the truck. I turned the heated seats on and turned the heat on high. He pulled out the parking lot and headed to the nearest store  that accepted Wic. He was gone have to learn how to do this eventually so I made him go in.

Thank you baby.! I smiled kissing him as he was getting out.

Yeah okay you lucky I love you.! He smirked closing the door to go in. He went into the store and I was so happy life was coming together for us.

I looked up from my phone because I heard arguing and yelling. Some dude had a gun to Jordan head and Jordan backed out on him back. Jordan shot at dude and tried to run out the store. Before Jordan could make it all the way out the door a shot let off. I jumped out the car slipping on some ice getting up quick and two more shots rang off. Jordan fell to the ground. Blood was pouring from him and I was screaming to the top of my lungs. I cradled his head in my lap and tried to apply pressure to his body.

Promise, promise me you'll take care of our daughter let her know how much I loved her.! He said straining coughing up blood.

Baby don't talk like that.! Your going to make it.

Jordan don't do this to me.! I cried harder wiping the blood from his mouth.

Jordan.! Jordan.! Jordan.!!!!!!! I screamed and screamed and screamed. I could hear sirens in the air. And I held him so tight crying so hard. His body layed in my arms. Blood was all over me. Cops pulled up with guns drowned at me. They kicked his gun away from me. I was pulled away from him and forced to the ground and hand cuffs was placed on me.

My child is in the car.! I screamed.

Okay calm down. A lady cop said coming to me.

No y'all are cuffing me for no reason. I literally just had a fuckin baby 5 days ago and she's in the fuckin car.! I screamed. Another cop walked over to the car and took my baby out. I was crying so hard she was crying. Jordan body was still laying on the ground and I was placed into a cop car.
